PANGKALPINANG,PERKARANEWS – Guna meningkatkan ketersediaan air bersih bagi masyarakat di sekitar wilayah operasionalnya, PT Timah Tbk melalui program Tanggung Jawab Sosial dan Lingkungan (TJSL) aktif membangun fasilitas air bersih. Langkah konkret ini diwujudkan dengan pembangunan sejumlah sumur bor yang ditempatkan strategis di berbagai fasilitas umum.
Sejak tahun 2022 hingga 2024, perusahaan anggota Holding Industri Pertambangan MIND ID ini telah berhasil membangun sebanyak 16 unit sumur bor yang tersebar di berbagai wilayah operasionalnya. Inisiatif ini menunjukkan komitmen PT Timah dalam memberikan kontribusi positif bagi masyarakat.
Bantuan sumur bor ini menjangkau berbagai lokasi di Provinsi Kepulauan Bangka Belitung, termasuk rumah ibadah, sekolah, hingga pemukiman warga. Ketersediaan air bersih ini diharapkan tidak hanya meningkatkan kualitas sanitasi masyarakat, tetapi juga dapat dimanfaatkan untuk kebutuhan konsumsi sehari-hari.
Dalam merealisasikan program penyediaan air bersih ini, PT Timah tidak bergerak sendiri. Perusahaan menjalin kolaborasi yang baik dengan berbagai pihak, termasuk Pemerintah Daerah, Tentara Nasional Indonesia (TNI), serta kelompok-kelompok masyarakat setempat. Sinergi ini menjadi kunci keberhasilan program yang berkelanjutan.
Salah satu penerima manfaat dari program ini adalah warga Dusun VII Desa Belo Laut, Kecamatan Mentok, Kabupaten Bangka Barat. Kepala Dusun setempat, Marzeni, menyampaikan rasa terima kasih atas bantuan sumur bor yang dibangun di Balai Desa. Menurutnya, fasilitas ini akan sangat bermanfaat bagi kegiatan di Balai Desa maupun untuk memenuhi kebutuhan air bersih warga, terutama saat musim kemarau tiba.
Departement Head Corporate Communication PT Timah Tbk, Anggi Siahaan, menegaskan bahwa perusahaan menyadari betul pentingnya air bersih sebagai salah satu kebutuhan dasar masyarakat. “Penyediaan air bersih ini merupakan bagian dari kontribusi perusahaan dalam memenuhi kebutuhan dasar masyarakat. Hal ini juga sebagai upaya perusahaan untuk meningkatkan kualitas kesehatan masyarakat,” ujarnya.
Program penyediaan air bersih ini sejalan dengan komitmen PT Timah untuk mendukung pencapaian Tujuan Pembangunan Berkelanjutan (TPB) nomor 6, yaitu mengenai ketersediaan dan pengelolaan air bersih serta sanitasi yang berkelanjutan untuk semua. PT Timah akan terus berupaya menjalankan program-program yang memberikan dampak positif dan meningkatkan kesejahteraan masyarakat di wilayah operasionalnya. (MJ01)
