PANGKALPINANG,PERKARANEWS – Untuk meningkatkan kualitas sumber daya manusia di komunitas pertambangan, PT Timah telah menjalankan program Pemali Boarding School, sebuah inisiatif beasiswa, sejak tahun 2000.
Dalam pelaksanaan Program Boarding School Pemali, PT Timah bekerja sama dengan Departemen Pendidikan Provinsi Bangka Belitung dan SMAN 1 Pemali untuk mendukung pendidikan penerima beasiswa.
Program yang dicanangkan PT Timah ini telah menghasilkan 851 alumni dengan sasaran mahasiswa yang kurang mampu secara ekonomi dan berprestasi secara akademis. Program pendidikan berbasis pesantren sepenuhnya mendanai pendidikan penerima beasiswa di tingkat SMA.
Keberhasilan program Boarding School Pemali telah menarik tim Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) dari PT Inalum dan Yayasan Inalum Partners untuk melakukan kajian terhadap program PT Timah di Pangkalpinang, Bangka Belitung, dari tanggal 7-9 Oktober 2024.
Dipimpin oleh Pj Kepala Departemen CSR PT Inalum, Daniel JP Hutauruk, rombongan mengunjungi asrama SMAN 1 Pemali dan PT Timah pesantren di Pemali, Kabupaten Bangka, untuk mengamati program Pesantren Pemali yang sedang berjalan.
Ditemani Risal Barung Mangontan, Department Head Corporate Social Responsibility & Environment PT Timah, mereka mengunjungi beberapa fasilitas di asrama Pemali Boarding School.
Daniel menyatakan bahwa sebagai anggota MIND ID’s Mining Industry Holding, PT Inalum dan PT Timah berbagi mandat serupa dari pemerintah untuk mengelola pendidikan dan pemberdayaan masyarakat.
Saat ini, Inalum sudah memiliki yayasan yang fokus pada pendidikan SMA dan telah bertugas untuk meningkatkan tingkat pendidikan khususnya di Kabupaten Batubara untuk mendirikan SMA elit.
Dengan kunjungan ini, mereka bertujuan untuk mengamati secara langsung bagaimana program Pesantren Pemali berjalan, memungkinkan mereka untuk memahami bagaimana menerapkan program pesantren serupa di Kabupaten Batubara, tepatnya di PT Inalum.
Dia mencatat bahwa program Boarding School PT Timah adalah teladan dan berfungsi sebagai model untuk implementasi di PT Inalum.
“Kami mengucapkan terima kasih yang sebesar-besarnya kepada PT Timah yang telah berbagi pengalaman dan informasi mereka yang luas dalam mengelola program sekolah berasrama, yang telah memberi kami wawasan berharga untuk menjalankan program sekolah papan atas di Batubara, kata” Daniel.
Dari kunjungan ini, Daniel menambahkan, ada beberapa langkah yang dapat mereka ambil untuk meningkatkan kompetensi, khususnya dalam layanan pendidikan.
“Pesantren PT Timah telah menjadi model untuk kami terapkan di Kabupaten Batubara. Saya yakin langkah selanjutnya adalah berbagi dan berkolaborasi untuk mengadopsi praktik terbaik ini,” katanya.
Di masa depan, Daniel berharap PT Inalum dapat terus bekerjasama dengan PT Timah untuk meningkatkan layanan edukasi bagi masyarakat di sekitar area pertambangan.
“Saya berharap di masa depan, Inalum juga dapat berbagi apa yang telah kita pelajari di sini sehingga kita dapat bekerja sama untuk meningkatkan kompetensi dalam layanan pendidikan di tingkat sekolah menengah atas dan seterusnya,” Daniel menyimpulkan.(Yuko)
