PANGKALPINANG,PERKARANEWS – Museum Timah Indonesia (MTI) Mentok menjadi destinasi favorit pelajar untuk belajar sejarah pertambangan timah di Indonesia, khususnya Bangka Belitung. Lokasinya di Mentok, Kabupaten Bangka Barat, museum ini selalu ramai dikunjungi pelajar dari berbagai daerah.
Pelajar yang datang ke MTI Mentok dapat melihat koleksi sejarah, alat penambangan, serta galeri sejarah Bangka dan Mentok, galeri sosial budaya, dan galeri sejarah Perang Dunia II di Mentok. Bangunan museum yang didirikan tahun 1915 ini merupakan peninggalan Belanda dan menjadi cagar budaya di Bangka Barat.
Salah satu sekolah yang berkunjung adalah SDN 3 Pangkalpinang. Guru SDN 3 Pangkalpinang, Dede, mengatakan kunjungan ini bertujuan mengenalkan sejarah daerah kepada siswa, terutama sejarah timah Bangka Belitung. Kepala MTS Plus Bahrul Ulum Islamic Centre Sungailiat, Ali Mafrohim, juga menyampaikan bahwa kunjungan ini merupakan bagian dari pembelajaran Rihlah Tarbawiyah Tanazzuhiyah untuk mengenal sejarah, khususnya Museum Timah.
“Salah satu pertimbangan kunjungan ke Mentok karena memiliki destinasi terbilang lebih bagus, makanya kita mendatangi Museum salah satu untuk yang kita kunjungi di Mentok,” ungkap Ali Mafrohim.
Kania, santri MTS Plus Bahrul Ulum, mengaku terkesan dengan museum ini. Ia belajar banyak hal baru, seperti sejarah timah, kota Mentok, dan Menumbing. Aska, siswa kelas 5 SD Negeri 3 Pangkalpinang, juga tertarik dengan bangunan dan koleksi museum, seperti patung-patung berseragam PT Timah dan pakaian adat.
Kunjungan pelajar ke Museum Timah Indonesia Mentok diharapkan dapat meningkatkan wawasan mereka tentang sejarah pertambangan timah dan warisan budaya Bangka Belitung.(MJ01)
