TOBOALI,PERKARANEWS – Persatuan Wartawan Indonesia (PWI) Kabupaten Bangka Selatan kembali menebarkan virus literasi di SMA Negeri 1 Toboali, Senin (8/1/2024).
Kegiatan yang diberi nama PWI Basel Goes To School kelas literasi itu bertujuan untuk memberikan edukasi tentang jurnalistik serta membangun kesadaran literasi kepada para pelajar, khususnya pelajar SMA Negeri 1 Toboali.
Ketua PWI Bangka Selatan, Dedy Irawan menyebutkan kegiatan PWI Basel Goes to School ini merupakan kegiatan rutin PWI Basel yang sudah dilaksanakan pada tahun 2022 lalu.
“Dari hasil kegiatan workshop literasi tahun 2022 lalu, PWI Basel sudah berhasil membina beberapa siswa dan menerbitkan buku, salah satunya buku kumpulan cerpen karya Khoiriah Apriza, siswa SMAN 1 Airgegas,” ujar Dedy.
Dijelaskan Dedy, dari hasil kegiatan literasi tersebut, nantinya PWI Bangka Selatan akan menerbitkan dua buku karya siswa, satu karya PWI Basel dan satu buku karya PWI Babel.
“InsyaAllah di tahun ini nantinya kite dari PWI Basel akan segera melaunching buku dari karya siswa dan kawan-kawan PWI baik itu PWI Basel maupun PWI Babel,” jelasnya.
Dedy berharap, dengan digelarnya kelas literasi jurnalistik yang diberikan kepada para pelajar ini, kedepannya dapat menggerakkan literasi serta dapat menjaring penulis-penulis yang ada di Kabupaten Bangka Selatan.
“Dari hasil kegiatan yang PWI Basel giatkan selama ini telah berhasil menjaring penulis dari dikalangan pelajar. Karena itu, kami berharap kedepannya PWI Bangka Selatan bisa berkontribusi dalam meningkatkan gerakan literasi di Kabupaten Bangka Selatan,” tuturnya.
Wakil Ketua PWI Bangka Selatan, Hatomi menjelaskan melalui gerakan literasi akan menjadi daya saing, serta meningkatkan indeks pembangunan Sumber Daya Manusia.
Hatomi berharap dengan adanya gerakan literasi ini dapat membangkitkan semangat, para kaum milineal untuk tetap berkarya.
“Secara rutin nanti PWI Bangka Selatan akan terus melaksanakan Goes to School, agar nantinya dapat memberikan manfaat bagi para pelajar untuk berkarya,” ujarnya.
Sementara itu, Kepala Sekolah SMA Negeri 1 Toboali, Aspandi menyambut positif kegiatan PWI Basel Goes To School kelas literasi yang di laksanakan oleh PWI Bangka Selatan.
Aspandi berharap melalui kegiatan PWI Basel Goes To School tersebut dapat memberikan wawasan bagi para pelajar. Sehingga para pelajar bisa mengembangkan minat dan bakat dalam menulis khususnya di dunia jurnalistik.
“Alhamdulillah PWI Basel telah memilih SMA Negeri 1 untuk melaksanakan giat ini. InsyaAllah nantinya kita akan menjalani kerjasama, mengingat hasil assesment tahun 2022, literasi di kita masih sangat kurang sekali,” ujarnya.
“Kami berharap, melalui kerjasama nantinya dapat memajukan dunia literasi di sekolah, dan saya juga berharap di antara buku yang diterbitkan nanti ada karya anak didik kami,” pungkasnya. (Yuko)
