KUNDUR,PERKARANEWS.COM — PT TIMAH Tbk kembali menanam mangrove sebagai upaya untuk menjaga kelestarian lingkungan pesisir dan mitigasi perubahan iklim. Kali ini, Perusahaan menanam 5.000 batang mangrove di Pantai Kobel, Desa Sawang Laut, Kecamatan Kundur Barat, Kabupaten Karimun, Kamis (11/12/2025).
Penanaman mangrove ini merupakan upaya PT TIMAH Tbk dalam mendukung rehabilitasi kawasan pesisir dan juga mencegah terjadinya abrasi, dan juga memberikan dampak ekonomi bagi masyarakat sekitar.
Kegiatan ini disambut antusias oleh masyarakat dan Pemerintah Desa, bahkan penanaman ini melibatkan berbagai unsur mulai dari kepolisian, kejaksaan dan kelompok masyarakat.
Kepala Desa Sawang Laut, Jefrizal mengapresiasi komitmen PT TIMAH Tbk yang terlibat langsung dalam mendukung pelestarian pesisir di Kawasan Pantai Kobel.
“Terima kasih PT TIMAH Tbk yang telah melakukan penananam mangrove di Pantai Kobel ini. Ini sangat bermanfaat untuk menjaga lingkungan pesisir sehingga ekosistem pantai dan laut jadi terjaga,” katanya.
Jefrizal menyebutkan, kondisi mangrove yang ada di kawasan Pantai Kobel ini cukup rusak, sehingga dengan ditanam kembali diharapkan bisa memperbaiki ekosistem pesisirnya.
“Sebelum ini mangrove di pesisir pantai Kobel Laut ini cukup rusak, dengan adanya penanaman ini dia akan menambah lagi mangrove dan nantinya mangrove ini akan berperan sebagai i penahan abrasi di pesisir pantai,” katanya.
Ia menambahkan, penanaman mangrove yang dilakukan PT TIMAH Tbk tidak hanya memperbaiki ekosistem pesisir, melainkan juga untuk membantu meningkatkan ekonomi masyarakat nelayan.
“Apa yang kita tanam ini jika dijaga terus akan memberikan damapk ekonomi, dimana nanti ini menjadi habitat ikan, udang dan anntinya akan meningkatkan hasil tangkapan nelayan,” ujarnya.
Kedepan, Ia berharap PT TIMAH Tbk dapat terus berkolaborasi dengan mereka untuk melaksanakan program pelestarian lingkungan.
“Kami berharap program ini dapat terus berlanjut, kami bersama masyarakat juga akan menjaga mangrove di kawasan ini sehingga ekosistem di sekitar pantai Kobel ini bisa tumbuh dengan baik,” tutupnya. (Yuko)
