PANGKALPINANG,PERKARANEWS – Mahpud Effendi, atlet pencak silat asal Bangka Belitung, berhasil memenangkan pertandingan dengan kemenangan TKO melawan atlet asal Kalimantan Tengah di PON XXI Aceh-Sumut.
Pertandingan yang berlangsung di GOR Veteran Disporasu, Kota Medan, pada Senin, 9 September 2024 itu berhasil mengundang kemeriahan penonton yang hadir.
Mahpud berhasil menguasai pertandingan dengan skor mencolok, meraih 29 poin sementara lawannya dari Kalimantan Tengah hanya mampu mengumpulkan poin -5.
Di game kedua, atlet Kalimantan Tengah memutuskan mundur karena selisih poin yang terlalu jauh, mengakui keunggulan Mahpud Effendi.
Usai pertandingan, Mahpud Effendi mengungkapkan rasa syukurnya atas kemenangan tersebut.
“Alhamdulillah, hari ini melawan Kalimantan Tengah menang by teknik,” ujar Mahpud.
Ia juga mengungkapkan persiapannya untuk menghadapi DKI Jakarta di babak perempat final besok.
“Sesuai dengan game plan, harus tahu musuh main apa dan kita main apa,” kata Mahpud saat ditanya soal persiapannya menghadapi tim DKI Jakarta.
Meski berasal dari provinsi kecil, Mahpud tetap optimis dan tak gentar menghadapi DKI Jakarta.
“Yang terpenting, walaupun kita Provinsi kecil, jangan takut untuk melawan DKI Jakarta,” tambahnya.
Mahpud juga menyatakan keyakinannya untuk terus melaju di ajang PON XXI ini.
“Kita optimis menang, minta doa dan dukungannya dari masyarakat Bangka Belitung. Saya pribadi tetap optimis bisa membawa medali untuk Bangka Belitung,” pungkas Mahpud.
Dengan performa gemilangnya sejauh ini, Mahpud Effendi menjadi salah satu harapan Bangka Belitung untuk meraih medali di PON XXI Aceh-Sumut.
Semua mata kini tertuju pada pertandingan berikutnya di perempat final saat Mahpud menghadapi atlet dari DKI Jakarta.(Yuko)
