Bang Maman, yang juga Ketua Kelompok Sadar Wisata (Pokdarwis) Pantai Batu Tunggal, bukanlah sosok sembarangan. Di balik perjuangannya membangun tempat wisata yang ramai dikunjungi ini, ia juga aktif membangun ruang-ruang belajar bagi generasi muda.
Baru-baru ini, Sulaiman sukses mendirikan sebuah gedung Pendidikan Alquran (TPA) yang mentereng untuk anak-anak di Lingkungan Rambak. Padahal, selama belasan tahun, anak-anak di sana terpaksa mengaji di teras-teras masjid karena tidak memiliki gedung yang memadai.
Tak main-main, pembangunan gedung TPA ini kabarnya menelan biaya sekitar Rp 300 juta. Gedung ini dilengkapi dengan 4 ruang kelas dan ruang guru, menjadi bukti nyata keseriusan Bang Maman dalam memajukan pendidikan agama di lingkungannya.
Tidak hanya di bidang pendidikan, Sulaiman juga dikenal peduli terhadap pemberdayaan masyarakat. Salah satu keberhasilannya adalah memfasilitasi seorang pemuda asal Lingkungan Rambak untuk mendapatkan beasiswa kuliah gratis di salah satu kampus di Sungailiat.
Di tengah dedikasinya membangun ekonomi kreatif, Sulaiman sempat diterpa isu miring. Namanya viral karena adanya upaya untuk melengserkannya dari jabatan ketua Pokdarwis. Isu ini muncul bersamaan dengan kabar bahwa pemerintah daerah berencana merobohkan aset-aset yang telah dibangun masyarakat di Pantai Batu Tunggal.
Padahal, Pantai Batu Tunggal kini telah dikunjungi oleh puluhan ribu orang dan menjadi pusat kegiatan yang ramai. Namun, hanya karena postingan dari segelintir orang yang tidak bertanggung jawab di media sosial, Bang Maman dituduh dan dicoba untuk dilengserkan.
Puncaknya, dalam sebuah rapat struktural kepengurusan Pokdarwis, ada pihak dari Dinas Pariwisata melalui Babinsa Kelurahan Jelitik, Serka Rahman, yang menyampaikan pesan agar Sulaiman tidak lagi menjabat ketua.
Namun, realita berkata lain. Semua pengurus Pokdarwis yang hadir justru menolak permintaan tersebut. Mereka dengan tegas mempertahankan Sulaiman sebagai ketua, karena peran besarnya dalam membangun ekonomi kreatif dan memajukan masyarakat selama lima bulan terakhir.
Momen Hari Kemerdekaan Republik Indonesia ke-80 menjadi pengingat bahwa Bang Maman adalah teladan sejati. Ia menjadi contoh pemimpin yang berjuang tanpa lelah, menggerakkan masyarakat untuk hidup lebih sejahtera, dan peduli terhadap sesama.
