PANGKALPINANG,PERKARANEWS – Sebanyak 411 nelayan di Kabupaten Bangka kini memiliki perlindungan jaminan sosial setelah difasilitasi oleh PT Timah Tbk untuk menjadi peserta BPJS Ketenagakerjaan. Penyerahan kartu BPJS Ketenagakerjaan secara simbolis dilakukan oleh Pj Bupati Bangka, Isnaini, dalam acara Peresmian Sentra UMKM di Kawasan Lingkungan Nelayan II Sungailiat, pada Rabu (26/2/2025).
Kerja sama antara PT Timah, BPJS Ketenagakerjaan Pangkalpinang, dan Dinas Kelautan dan Perikanan (DKP) Kabupaten Bangka ini bertujuan untuk memberikan perlindungan sosial kepada para nelayan. Program ini merupakan bagian dari tanggung jawab sosial PT Timah yang fokus pada peningkatan kesejahteraan masyarakat, terutama bagi mereka yang bekerja di sektor informal seperti nelayan.
Pj Bupati Bangka, Isnaini, menyampaikan apresiasi yang tinggi kepada PT Timah atas upaya mereka dalam memberikan perlindungan sosial kepada para nelayan. Menurutnya, kolaborasi antara pemerintah, swasta, dan masyarakat sangat penting untuk mendukung pertumbuhan ekonomi dan meningkatkan kesejahteraan masyarakat.
“Kami menyambut baik dan memberikan apresiasi setinggi-tingginya atas terselenggaranya program ini. Kami berharap upaya bersama ini dapat memberikan dampak yang signifikan bagi masyarakat setempat,” ujar Isnaini.
Departement Head Corporate Communication PT Timah Tbk, Anggi Siahaan, menyatakan bahwa PT Timah berkomitmen untuk terus memberikan manfaat bagi masyarakat, termasuk melalui program jaminan perlindungan sosial bagi kelompok nelayan.
“PT Timah memiliki sejumlah program untuk meningkatkan perekonomian bagi kelompok nelayan seperti bantuan alat tangkap, bantuan mesin tempel dan Perusahaan juga memfasilitasi kelompok nelayan untuk mendapatkan jaminan perlindungan sosial ketenagakerjaan,” jelas Anggi.
Program ini diharapkan dapat memberikan rasa aman dan perlindungan bagi para nelayan dalam menjalankan aktivitas mereka. Dengan adanya jaminan sosial, para nelayan dapat lebih fokus dalam bekerja dan meningkatkan produktivitas mereka.
Inisiatif PT Timah ini juga diharapkan dapat menjadi contoh bagi perusahaan lain untuk turut serta dalam memberikan perlindungan sosial bagi masyarakat, khususnya mereka yang bekerja di sektor informal.(MJ01)
