PANGKALPINANG,PERKARANEWS – Sebanyak 411 nelayan di Kabupaten Bangka kini memiliki perlindungan jaminan sosial setelah difasilitasi menjadi peserta BPJS Ketenagakerjaan oleh PT Timah Tbk. Penyerahan kartu BPJS Ketenagakerjaan secara simbolis dilakukan oleh Pj Bupati Bangka, Isnaini, dalam acara Peresmian Sentra UMKM di Kawasan Lingkungan Nelayan II Sungailiat, Rabu (26/2/2025).
Kerja sama antara PT Timah Tbk, BPJS Ketenagakerjaan Pangkalpinang, dan Dinas Kelautan dan Perikanan (DKP) Kabupaten Bangka ini bertujuan untuk memberikan perlindungan sosial bagi para nelayan. Program ini merupakan bagian dari tanggung jawab sosial PT Timah yang fokus pada peningkatan kesejahteraan masyarakat, khususnya para pekerja di sektor informal seperti nelayan.
Pj Bupati Bangka, Isnaini, menyampaikan apresiasi atas upaya PT Timah dalam memberikan perlindungan sosial bagi para nelayan. Ia menekankan pentingnya kolaborasi antara pemerintah, swasta, dan masyarakat untuk mendukung pertumbuhan ekonomi dan meningkatkan kesejahteraan. “Kami menyambut baik dan memberikan apresiasi setinggi-tingginya atas terselenggaranya program ini. Kami berharap upaya bersama ini dapat memberikan dampak yang signifikan bagi masyarakat setempat,” ujarnya.
Departement Head Corporate Communication PT Timah Tbk, Anggi Siahaan, menyatakan bahwa PT Timah berkomitmen untuk memberikan manfaat bagi masyarakat, termasuk melalui program jaminan perlindungan sosial bagi kelompok nelayan. “PT Timah memiliki sejumlah program untuk meningkatkan perekonomian bagi kelompok nelayan seperti bantuan alat tangkap, bantuan mesin tempel, dan Perusahaan juga memfasilitasi kelompok nelayan untuk mendapatkan jaminan perlindungan sosial ketenagakerjaan,” jelasnya.
Anggi juga mengapresiasi dukungan Pemerintah Daerah yang telah membantu program ini terlaksana dengan baik. Ia menambahkan bahwa PT Timah bekerja sama dengan Dinas Kelautan Perikanan Kabupaten Bangka untuk melakukan survei agar program ini tepat sasaran. “PT Timah berkolaborasi dengan Dinas Kelautan Perikanan Kabupaten Bangka, melalukan survei agar program ini dapat tepat sasaran,” katanya.
Salah satu nelayan penerima manfaat, Roji (41), mengungkapkan rasa syukurnya atas program ini. “Saya sudah melaut selama 22 tahun, dan kondisi di laut tidak selalu baik. Jika cuaca buruk, kami harus kembali lebih cepat dan penghasilan berkurang. Kami bersyukur PT Timah sudah membantu mengeluarkan program BPJS Ketenagakerjaan untuk kami. Sekarang kami punya perlindungan jika terjadi sesuatu saat bekerja di laut,” ungkapnya.
Program ini diharapkan dapat memberikan rasa aman dan perlindungan bagi para nelayan dalam menjalankan aktivitas mereka, serta meningkatkan kesejahteraan keluarga nelayan di Kabupaten Bangka..(MJ01)
