PANGKALPINANG, PERKARANEWS.COM– Sejarah kelam perlawanan rakyat Bangka di bawah kepemimpinan Depati Amir menyimpan banyak kisah heroik, tak terkecuali penggunaan strategi taktik yang mematikan.

Menurut sejarawan dan budayawan Dato’ Akhmad Elvian, DPMP, perang yang meletus di seluruh pelosok Pulau Bangka ini tak hanya mengandalkan kekuatan fisik, melainkan juga memanfaatkan racun sebagai senjata mematikan untuk melumpuhkan pasukan kolonial Belanda.

Perlawanan sengit Depati Amir dan pasukannya tercatat dalam berbagai pertempuran besar di sejumlah lokasi strategis, seperti Lukok, Cepurak Mendara, Mentadai, Ampang, Tadjaubelah, Ketiping, Titi Puwak, dan Titi Medang.

Salah satu episode paling mencengangkan terjadi di Ampang, di mana pasukan Depati Amir, yang saat itu dipimpin oleh adiknya, Depati Hamzah atau Tjing, menggunakan racun dalam pertempuran.

Dato’ Akhmad Elvian merujuk pada sebuah surat dari Residen Bangka kepada Gubernur Jenderal di Belinju, tertanggal 26 Januari 1851/XIV-A (ANRI:BL: 25-3-1851 No.13 hal.8). Dalam surat tersebut, disebutkan bahwa sebelum penyerangan untuk menduduki pos militer Belanda di Ampang, Tebong sosok yang identitasnya masih diteliti lebih lanjut meracuni makanan dan sumber air pasukan Belanda. Akibatnya, seluruh pasukan Belanda di Ampang tewas.

“Sehubungan dengan serangan pos militer di Ampang seperti yang dimaksud dalam surat saya terdahulu 4 Juli 1850 LaH/IV, sebelum penyerangan untuk menduduki Ampang diracuni makanan dan sumber air pasukan Belanda oleh Tebong menyebabkan kematian bagi semua pasukan Belanda di Ampang,” demikian kutipan surat yang disampaikan Dato’ Akhmad Elvian.

Menariknya, berdasarkan “Kaart van het Eiland Banka” karya H.M. Lange tahun 1845 dan 1846, Kampung Ampang yang menjadi lokasi pertempuran mematikan tersebut, kini dikenal sebagai Kampung Kelapa. Toponimi Kampung Kelapa sendiri diambil dari nama spesifik pohon kelapa.
Sementara itu, nama “Ampang” memiliki makna “Tebet” yang berarti penahan air, menunjukkan kondisi geografis wilayah tersebut.

Kisah racun mematikan dalam Perang Depati Amir ini menjadi bukti kekayaan strategi perang dan kegigihan rakyat Bangka dalam mempertahankan tanah air dari penjajahan Belanda. Sejarah ini juga mengingatkan kita akan pentingnya mempelajari taktik perang dan keberanian para pahlawan lokal.(Yuko)
