Sejarawan Ungkap Keberagaman Pemakaman di Pangkalpinang Era Hindia Belanda, Ada Makam ‘Karayukisan’ Misterius!

PANGKALPINANG, PERKARANEWS.COM – Peta-peta resmi Pemerintah Hindia Belanda, seperti “Res Bangka en Onderh”, secara jelas membagi tempat pemakaman atau kuburan di Pulau Bangka menjadi tiga kategori: Christen kerkhof (Pemakaman Kristen), Chineesche graven (Pemakaman China), dan Inlandsche graven (Pemakaman Pribumi).

Fakta menarik ini diungkap oleh Dato’ Akhmad Elvian, DPMP, seorang Sejarawan dan Budayawan terkemuka yang juga penerima Anugerah Kebudayaan Indonesia. Menurut Dato’ Elvian, ketiga jenis pemakaman ini hingga kini masih dapat ditemukan di Kota Pangkalpinang, menjadi saksi bisu jejak peradaban multikultural di masa lampau.

Kerkhof: Saksi Bisu Kehidupan Multibangsa
Pemakaman Kristen atau Christen kerkhof ini oleh masyarakat Bangka lebih dikenal dengan sebutan Kerkhof. Lokasinya terletak di Jalan Hormen Maddati, Kelurahan Melintang, yang dulunya dikenal sebagai Jalan Sekolah (karena terdapat sekolah AIAI). Kehadiran pemakaman ini bahkan memberikan nama pada kawasan sekitarnya, yang kini dikenal sebagai Kampung Kerkhof.

Lebih unik lagi, di dalam kompleks Kerkhof ini, terdapat sekitar 10 makam perempuan Jepang yang oleh masyarakat setempat disebut dengan Karayukisan. Fenomena ini memunculkan pertanyaan menarik tentang keberadaan dan peran perempuan Jepang di Bangka pada masa kolonial.
