Program ini menjadi salah satu bentuk tanggung jawab sosial dan lingkungan perusahaan untuk menjaga ekosistem lingkungan yang berkelanjutan.
Salah satu program pengelolaan lingkungan yang konsisten dilaksanakan PT Timah yakni reklamasi laut. Reklamasi Laut dilaksanakan di Provinsi Kepulauan Bangka Belitung dan Provinsi Riau.
Program reklamasi laut yang dilaksanakan di Provinsi Riau seperti penanaman mangrove, penebaran kepiting, pemasangan penahan abrasi serta Pemantauan biota laut disekitar operasional Perusahaan.
Pada awal tahun 2025 ini, PT Timah Tbk Area Kundur telah menanam 12.000 bibit mangrove jenis bakau yang dilaksanakan di empat seperti di Pantai mata Air Desa Kundur, Pantai Teluk Dalam Desa Kundur,Pantai Gemuruh Desa Gemuruh Kecamatan Kundur Barat dan Pantai Pongkar Desa Pongkar Kecamatan Tebing Kabupaten Karimun.
Penanaman mangrove merupakan upaya untuk mengurangi dampak abrasi disekitar garis pantai yang tiap tahun semakin mengkhawatirkan.
Dalam melaksanakan penanaman mangrove, PT Timah melibatkan masyarakat sekitar sebagai bentuk kolaborasi bersama untuk menjaga ekosistem pesisir.
Salah satu warga yang terlibat dalam penanaman mangrove yakni, Dedi menyampaikan, dirinya sangat senang bisa ikut dalam penanaman mangrove karena selain untuk menjaga ekosistem lingkungan juga memberikan dampak ekonomi bagi mereka.
“Saya senang PT Timah terus melakukan penanaman mangrove di sekitar Pulau Kundur ini, karena dampaknya sangat baik untuk masyarakat !nelayan dan juga masyarakat luas,” ujarnya.
Senada, khomari warga Desa Gemuruh yang ikut kegiatan penanaman mangrove menyebutkan, kegiatan ini sangat baik untuk keberlanjutan ekosistem pesisir.
“Hutan Mangrove ini bisa jadi tempat untuk berkembang biak biota laut seperti udang, ikan ikan kecil, kepiting serta mangrove ini dapat menahan gelombang air yang kuat sehingga abrasi pada bibir pantai dapat berkurang,” ucapnya. (Yuko)
