KARIMUN,PERKARANEWS – PT Timah terus bergerak untuk mendukung pemberdayaan perempuan dan penguatan ekonomi masyarakat lokal di wilayah operasional perusahaan. Salah satunya di Kabupaten Karimun, Provinsi Kepulauan Riau.
Melalui program pemberdayaan masyarakat, PT Timah membina kelompok Lanjut Bestari di Desa Sawang Laut, Kecamatan Kundur Barat, Kabupaten Karimun untuk membudidayakan sayuran dengan sistem hidroponik yang bertujuan untuk meningkatkan kesejahteraan para perempuan sekaligus mendukung ketahanan pangan.
Kelompok “Lanjut Bestari” yang terdiri dari ibu-ibu Majlis Taklim Mushalla Assyafi’iyah Desa Sawang Laut, melaksanakan pertanian hidroponik untuk membudidayakan berbagai jenis sayuran, seperti pokcoy, selada, sawi senfeng, dan seledri.
Direktur Utama PT TIMAH Tbk, Ahmad Dani Virsal memberikan semangat bagi anggota kelompok Lanjut Bestari saat melaksanakan kunjungan ke Kelompok ini akhir tahun lalu.
Ahmad Dani Virsal menyampaikan bahwa PT TIMAH Tbk berkomitmen untuk terus mendukung masyarakat dalam mengembangkan potensi lokal yang dapat meningkatkan ekonomi masyarakat.
“Melalui program ini, kami berharap dapat memberdayakan masyarakat Desa Sawang Laut untuk lebih mandiri dalam menghasilkan produk pangan yang sehat dan bergizi. Kami juga ingin mendorong mereka untuk terus berinovasi dan berkembang, baik dalam hal budidaya hidroponik maupun produk turunannya,” ujarnya.
Dalam kunjungan ini, Dirut PT Timah juga berdialog dengan anggota kelompok tentang pengembangan dan tantangan yang dihadapi kelompok.
Ketua Kelompok Lanjut Bestari, Sartini
menyampaikan beberapa tantangan yang dihadapi dalam proses budidaya hidroponik, seperti gangguan akibat banjir yang memengaruhi kualitas air dan pH nutrisi tanaman.
Meskipun demikian, ia mengungkapkan rasa syukur atas dukungan yang diberikan PT TIMAH Tbk sehingga kelompok ini bisa terus berkembang.
“Program ini sangat membantu kami dalam menambah wawasan dan keterampilan di bidang hidroponik. Kami bisa mengelola budidaya ini dengan lebih baik dan berharap ke depan bisa memperluas produk, misalnya dengan mengolah sayuran menjadi keripik atau produk olahan lainnya,” kata Sartini.
Produk yang dihasilkan dari kelompok Lanjut Bestari kini dipasarkan kepada masyarakat setempat. Bahkan permintaan sayur hidroponik terus bertambah dan menjadi peluang usaha yang cukup menjanjikan.
PT Timah Tbk yang merupakan anggota Holding Industri Pertambangan MIND ID ini mendampingi kelompok Lanjut Bestari untuk mengembangkan dan mengoptimalkan budidaya hidroponik.
Inisiatif ini sejalan komitmen PT Timah untuk tidak hanya fokus pada keberhasilan bisnis, tetapi juga memberikan dampak positif bagi masyarakat sekitar. Dengan memberdayakan kelompok perempuan melalui pertanian hidroponik, perusahaan berharap dapat menciptakan komunitas yang lebih mandiri, sejahtera, dan meningkatkan ketahanan pangan lokal.(Yuko)
