Gotong royong ini merupakan program rutin yang dilaksanakan PT TIMAH untuk sebagai upaya untuk menjaga kebersihan lingkungan terutama di ruang publik dan aset Perusahaan.
Kegiatan ini merupakan bagian dari dukungan terhadap program pemerintah “Indonesia ASRI” (Aman, Sehat, Resik, dan Indah) sekaligus upaya menjaga kawasan ruang terbuka publik agar tetap bersih, nyaman, dan layak digunakan masyarakat.
Aksi gotong royong yang melibatkan masyarakat, pelajar dan karyawan PT TIMAH ini difokuskan pada pembersihan area taman yang selama ini menjadi pusat aktivitas warga, khususnya untuk olahraga dan rekreasi.
Dalam kegiatan ini, mereka tampak saling membantu untuk mengumpulkan sampah yang didominasi oleh daun kering. Sampah yang terkumpul selanjutnya akan dipilah menjadi organik dan anorganik sebagai bagian dari program 3R (Reduce, Reuse, Recycle).
Sampah organik seperti daun kering akan diolah menjadi kompos di fasilitas TPS 3R Sri Menanti melalui kolaborasi dengan DLH Kabupaten Bangka.
Kepala Bidang Pengelolaan Persampahan DLH Kabupaten Bangka, Veggy Vera Lusyanti, mengapresiasi kolaborasi yang terjalin dengan PT TIMAH dalam menjaga kebersihan lingkungan, khususnya di kawasan Taman Sari.
“Kami bersyukur atas sinergi yang terjalin dengan PT TIMAH. Taman Sari merupakan salah satu pusat aktivitas masyarakat, sehingga kebersihannya harus dijaga bersama sebagai bentuk komitmen kita terhadap lingkungan,” katanya.
Ia juga menilai bahwa program lingkungan yang dijalankan PT TIMAH telah memberikan manfaat nyata bagi masyarakat dan diharapkan dapat terus berlanjut serta semakin difokuskan di kawasan strategis seperti pusat Kota Sungailiat.
Sementara itu, Guru PJOK dari Setia Budi, Irawan, menyampaikan bahwa kegiatan ini tidak hanya berdampak pada kebersihan lingkungan, tetapi juga memberikan nilai edukatif bagi para siswa.
“Kegiatan ini sangat positif karena menumbuhkan sikap sosial anak-anak, terutama nilai gotong royong yang juga kami ajarkan di sekolah. Selain itu, kondisi taman yang sebelumnya kurang terawat kini menjadi lebih baik,” ungkapnya.
Ia menambahkan, Taman Sari selama ini menjadi salah satu lokasi favorit untuk aktivitas olahraga pelajar, tidak hanya dari sekolahnya, tetapi juga dari sekolah lain di Sungailiat. Bahkan, kawasan ini kerap digunakan sebagai lokasi seleksi olahraga.
