PANGKALPINANG,PERKARANEWS – Sebagai perusahaan yang tumbuh dan berkembang bersama masyarakat, PT Timah melalui program Tanggung Jawab Sosial Lingkungan (TJSL) terus berkomitmen untuk mendukung pertumbuhan sosial ekonomi masyarakat di lingkar tambang.
Salah satu upaya yang dilakukan PT Timah yakni dengan mendorong perkembangan kelompok masyarakat agar mampu mandiri dan meningkatkan kesejahteraan masyarakat dengan memanfaatkan potensi lokal yang dimiliki.
Seperti di Provinsi Kepulauan Riau, PT Timah membina Kelompok Pokdakan Tuah Bersatu untuk mengembangkan usaha budidaya kakap putih sebagai upaya untuk meningkatkan kesejahteraan nelayan.
Ketua Pokdakan Tuah Bersatu Amran mengatakan, sejak dibina PT Timah kelompok mereka terus berkembang, bahkan bisa membentuk kelompok lainnya.
“Program bersama PT Timah sudah dimulai sejak tahun 2023, PT Timah membantu dan membina kami untuk mengembangkan budidaya kakap putih. Sehingga kami bisa memiliki mata pencaharian lainnya selain sebagai nelayan,” kata Amran beberapa waktu lalu.
Amran menceritakan, mereka tidak hanya dibantu tapi juga mereka diberikan pelatihan untuk melakukan budidaya perikanan sehingga hasilnya bisa lebih maksimal.
“Dengan adanya budidaya kakap ini kami bisa sebagai nelayan bisa memiliki penghasilan tambahan selain ke laut. Bahkan kami sudah bisa panen dan menjual hasil tangkapan kami,” katanya.
Terbilang sukses mengembangkan budidaya perikanan mereka kemudian juga membentuk kelompok pertanian hidroponik bersama kelompok perempuan Lanjut Bestari untuk mengembangkan pertanian sayur guna memenuhi kebutuhan pangan.
Selain itu, juga telah terbentuk kelompok pengolahan terasi untuk mengolah hasil tangkapan nelayan.
“Awalnya dari kelompok kami, kemudian kami membentuk kelompok hidroponik bagi ibu-ibu dan kelompok terasi. Kami bersyukur pembinaan dan dukungan dari PT Timah telah membantu perekonomian kami, tadinya ibu-ibu hanya ibu rumah tangga sekarang bisa menanam sayur. Terima kasih PT Timah yang telah memperhatikan daerah kami di Sawang Laut,” katanya.
Selain itu, kata dia PT Timah juga kerap memberikan bantuan sosial bagi masyarakat seperti peralatan tangkap untuk nelayan dan bantuan lainnya.
“Alhamdulillah kami sebagai masyarakat sudah merasakan banyak manfaat dengan pembinaan dan dukungan dari PT Timah. Dukungan dari PT Timah ini membantu kami dalam sektor ekonomi dan sosial. Semoga PT Timah tetap jaya,” harapnya.(Yuko)
