BANGKA BELITUNG,PERKARANEWS — Museum Timah Indonesia (MTI) Mentok merupakan salah satu destinasi wisata favorit saat berkunjung ke Bangka Barat. Tak heran jumlah kunjungan ke Museum Timah Indonesia Mentok terus meningkat.
Meski masih dalam tahap renovasi dan dialihkan ke gedung bagian belakang, jumlah kunjungan ke MTI Mentok tetap tidak menyurutkan semangat pengunjung untuk melihat koleksi di MTI Mentok.
Di awal tahun Januari 2024, jumlah kunjungan ke MTI Mentok sudah mencapai 483 orang, bahkan diprediksikan di Bulan Februari jumlah pengunjung lebih meningkat lagi.
Selain pengunjung lokal , Museum Timah Indonesia Mentok yang dikelola PT Timah ini juga mendapat kunjungan dari luar kabupaten Bangka Barat hingga wisatawan mancanegara.
Saat berkunjung ke MTI Mentok para pengunjung akan dipandu oleh pengurus dan Duta Museum untuk berkeliling melihat Galeri-galeri di Museum, seperti Galeri Sejarah Kota Mentok, Galeri Perang Dunia Ke 2, Galeri Pengasingan Pahlawan dan Galeri Timah.
Ketua Museum Timah Indonesia Mentok, Fahrizal mengatakan Museum Timah Indonesia Mentok menjadi magnet wisata, salah satu daya tarik pengunjung mengunjunggi Bangka Barat.
“Hari ini Museum mendapat kunjungan dari SMP Bakti Parittiga sebanyak 90, Madrasah Tsanawiya Mentok 23 orang dan SD IT Alam Cahaya Toboali 25 orang. Ini menandakan Museum menjadi daya tarik pengunjung ke Mentok Bangka Barat,” katanya, Rabu (28/2/2024).
Menurut Fakhrizal, selain berwisata dan mengenal sejarah timah, biasanya pengunjung yang datang ke MTI Mentok melaksanakan riset, program studi sekolah.
“Walaupun saat ini kunjungan dialihkan ke gedung sementara terletak di bawah gedung MTI Mentok, tak menyurut minat pengunjung berkunjung ke MTI Mentok,” sambungnya.
Fathir siswa kelas 7 Madrasah Tsanawiyah Mentok mengatakan dirinya banyak mengetahui tentang sejarah kota Mentok setelah mengunjungi Museum.
“Sangat senang diajak guru dapat mengunjunggi MTI Mentok. Dapat mengetahui tentang sejarah Mentok, tentang Timah dan lain lain,” ujarnya.
Senada diaampaikan Saza siswi kelas IV SD IT Toboali mengaku dirinya senang mendapatkan pembelajaran di Museum Timah Indonesia Mentok.
“Senang, dapat pembelajaran tentang sejarah kota Mentok, pahlawan, dan tentang Timah,” katanya.
Suwindra koordinator Outing class dan juga guru SD IT Bina Alam Toboali mengatakan kegiatan ke MTI Mentok program sekolah untuk siswa belajar ke lapangan.
“Kegiatan ini salah satu pembelajaran di SD kami, siswa langsung ke lapangan untuk mengetahui tentang sejarah yang ada di Mentok. Kami jauh-jauh ke Mentok untuk belajar sejarah kota Mentok, tentang pahlawan dan Timah di Museum Timah Indonesia Mentok,” terangnya. (Yuko)
