PANGKALPINANG,PERKARANEWS – PT Timah Tbk terus memperkuat komitmennya dalam menjaga keberlanjutan industri pertimahan nasional dengan meningkatkan upaya eksplorasi untuk menambah sumber daya dan cadangan timah. Langkah ini diambil seiring dengan aktivitas penambangan timah yang dilakukan baik di darat (onshore) maupun di laut (offshore).
Sekretaris Perusahaan PT Timah Tbk, Rendi Kurniawan, mengungkapkan bahwa perusahaan telah menetapkan target eksplorasi yang ambisius untuk tahun 2025. Di darat, fokus utama adalah eksplorasi detail endapan ‘aluvial dalam’ dan peningkatan kelas sumber daya timah primer. Sementara itu, di laut, perusahaan akan mengintensifkan eksplorasi di wilayah pesisir pantai.
“Eksplorasi merupakan bagian integral dari proses bisnis PT Timah Tbk. Kami secara masif melakukan eksplorasi di darat dan laut untuk menemukan sumber daya dan cadangan timah baru,” ujar Rendi. Ia menambahkan bahwa eksplorasi juga krusial untuk menjaga ketahanan produksi dan mendukung pertumbuhan industri hilir.
Dalam upaya mencapai target eksplorasi yang lebih akurat dan efisien, PT Timah Tbk mengadopsi teknologi geofisika, pemetaan drone, dan pemodelan 3D. Selain itu, perusahaan juga mengembangkan teknologi baru dengan memanfaatkan kecerdasan buatan (AI) dalam analisis mineral dan pemantauan sumber daya berbasis citra satelit. Penggunaan Unmanned Surface Vehicle (USV) dalam survei batimetri juga menjadi langkah strategis untuk meningkatkan efisiensi proses dan biaya.
“Penggunaan teknologi canggih adalah kunci keberhasilan eksplorasi. Dengan data yang lebih detail dan akurat, kami dapat merancang strategi pengeboran yang lebih terukur dan meminimalkan dampak lingkungan,” jelas Rendi.
Untuk mengoptimalkan eksplorasi dan mengembangkan mineral ikutan yang terkandung dalam timah, PT Timah Tbk juga melakukan peningkatan metode sampling guna menginventarisasi Mineral Ikutan Timah (MIT) dan mengoptimalkan pengeboran coring di laut.
“PT Timah Tbk saat ini juga fokus pada pengembangan mineral ikutan timah. Kami telah memulai proses ini dari hulu di eksplorasi dengan memetakan MIT secara lebih komprehensif,” pungkasnya.
