BANGKA, PERKARANEWS.COM — PT TIMAH Tbk menunjukkan komitmennya dalam mendukung pengembangan olahraga pelajar dan olahraga masyarakat dengan mendukung pelaksanaan Open Tournament Kejuaraan Antar Pelajar Indonesia Taekwondo Fun (ITF) Provinsi Kepulauan Bangka Belitung.
Kegiatan ini yang dilaksanakan oleh Komite Olahraga Masyarakat Indonesia (KORMI) Provinsi Kepulauan Bangka Belitung ini dilaksanakan pada pada 13–14 Desember 2025 tersebut berlangsung di GOR Orom Sungailiat, Kabupaten Bangka.
Sebanyak 200 peserta dari jenjang Sekolah Dasar (SD) hingga Sekolah Menengah Atas (SMA) se-Provinsi Kepulauan Bangka Belitung ikut ambil bagian dalam ajang ini.
Bendahara kegiatan, Nidia Asih Kurnia Hak, mengapresiasi dukungan PT TIMAH Tbk yang dinilai sangat membantu kelancaran penyelenggaraan kejuaraan.
“Bantuan dari PT TIMAH Tbk sangat membantu jalannya kegiatan, mulai dari operasional hingga penyediaan medali dan perlengkapan pertandingan. Dukungan ini sangat berarti bagi kami sebagai penyelenggara,” ujarnya.
Ia menjelaskan, ajang ini sempat vakum dan kembali digelar dengan harapan dapat menjadi wadah pembinaan atlet pelajar sekaligus meningkatkan prestasi atlet taekwondo di Bangka Belitung.
“Alhamdulillah antusiasme peserta sangat tinggi. Ini juga menjadi event KORMI pertama di Bangka Belitung, sehingga menjadi langkah awal untuk membangkitkan kembali semangat olahraga masyarakat,” tambahnya.
Kejuaraan ini mempertandingkan berbagai kategori, mulai dari Pra Cadet, Cadet, Junior dengan sistem open tournament yang terbuka bagi klub-klub taekwondo di Bangka Belitung.
Selain pertandingan olahraga, kegiatan ini juga diramaikan dengan bazar UMKM, sebagai upaya mendukung pergerakan ekonomi masyarakat lokal di sekitar lokasi kegiatan.
Ia berharap, kolaborasi dengan PT TIMAH Tbk dengan KORMI tidak berhenti pada penyelenggaraan kali ini saja, namun dapat terus berlanjut dalam berbagai event olahraga lainnya.
“Kami berharap kerja sama dan kolaborasi ini dapat terus berlanjut untuk mengembangkan kejuaraan yang lebih besar ke depan, bahkan hingga level nasional, sekaligus mendukung pembinaan atlet secara berkelanjutan,” tutup Nidia.
