BANGKA SELATAN, PERKARANEWS.COM — PT Timah mendukung upaya Polres Bangka Selatan yang sedang menggencarkan program penanaman jagung dengan menyerahkan bantuan bantuan 10 unit mesin tanam jagung, Jumat (19/9/2025).
Bantuan mesin tanma jagung dari PT Timah nantinya akan didistribusikan melalui para Kapolsek untuk Gabungan Kelompok Tani (Gapoktan) yang ada di Bangka Selatan.
Saat ini, Polres Bangka Selatan telah menanam jagung di lahan seluas 35 hektar dan akan terus diperluas sebagai upaya mendukung swasembada pangan yang menjadi salah satu Asta Cita Presiden Prabowo Subianto.
Kapolres Bangka Selatan, AKBP Agus Arif Wijayanto, menyampaikan bantuan mesin penanam jagung ini akan mempermudah para petani untuk menanam jagung.
“Terima kasih PT Timah telah memberikan mesin penanam jagung yang nantinya akan kami distribusikan kepada masyarakat. Karena selama ini penanaman jagung masih menggunakan cara manual, sehingga dengan adanya mesin ini tentu akan mempermudah proses penanaman benih jagung di Bangka Selatan,” ucapnya.
Ia menambahkan, jagung yang dihasilkan nantinya akan disalurkan kepada Perum Bulog dan sebagian akan disalurkan ke perusahaan lainnya.
“Jadi untuk hasil panen jagung biasanya akan disalurkan kepada Perum Bulog, dan juga beberapa perusahaan lokal,” katanya.
Sementara itu, Kepala Bagian Sumber Daya Manusia Polres Bangka Selatan, AKP Perdana Wisaptriana yang juga merupakan Sekretaris dalam program Ketahanan Pangan Polres Bangka Selatan menyebutkan bahwa terdapat sekitar delapan Gapoktan khusus tanaman jagung yang tersebar di setiap kecamatan.
“Mesin tanam ini akan digunakan bersama Gapoktan di bawah kordinasi para Kapolsek yang ada di Bangka Selatan. Dengan cara ini, distribusi dan pemanfaatan mesin bisa lebih merata. Kami berharap dukungan PT Timah tidak berhenti di sini, tetapi juga PT Timah dapat membantu kebutuhan alat lain seperti mesin pemipil jagung yang saat ini masih terbatas,” Ungkapnya.
Dengan sinergi antara Polres Basel, kelompok tani, dan PT Timah, diharapkan Bangka Selatan dapat menjadi salah satu sentra produksi jagung yang mendukung terwujudnya swasembada pangan nasional, sesuai dengan Asta Cita Presiden Prabowo Subianto. (Yuko)
