Program beasiswa pendidikan ini merupakan bagian dari tanggung jawab sosial perusahaan (CSR) PT TIMAH Tbk yang dilaksanakan secara berkelanjutan untuk membantu pendidikan masyarakat.
Kali ini, PT TIMAH Tbk memberikan bantuan beasiswa pendidikan bagi Aldo pelajar siswa SMA Swadaya yang mengalami kendala dana pendidikan. Melalui program ini, PT TIMAH Tbk berharap dapat membantu meringankan beban biaya pendidikan.
Orang tua Aldo, Poni mengatakan mereka kesulitan untuk membiayai pendidikan anaknya karena masalah ekonomi. Penghasilan dirinya dan suami hanya dapat memenuhi kebutuhan sehari-hari.
“Saya bekerja jadi asisten rumah tangga, suami kerja serabutan. Penghasilan tidak menentu dan hanya cukup untuk kebutuhan sehari-hari. Anak tetap mau sekolah tapi kami ada kendala biaya,” katanya.
Dirinya tak menyangka akan menerima bantuan dari PT TIMAH Tbk untuk membayar dana pendidikan anaknya yang sempat tertunda.
“Saya tidak menyangka akan dibantu oleh PT TIMAH Tbk. Dihubungi pihak sekolah akan ada bantuan untuk biaya pendidikan anak saya. Senang sekali dan bersyukur sehingga bisa membantu biaya pendidikan anak saya. Terima kasih semoga PT Timah terus maju dan membantu masyarakat,” ujarnya.
Kepala Sekolah SMA Swadaya Binsar Nababan menyatakan, pihaknya mengusulkan Aldo ke PT TIMAH Tbk untuk menerima bantuan beasiswa pendidikan karena sangat membutuhkan bantuan.
“Anaknya punya semangat dan rajin untuk belajar. Sekolah memahami kondisi keluarganya yang terkendala biaya pendidikan sehingga kami mengusulkan untuk dibantu ke PT TIMAH Tbk. Karena kalau sekolah swasta seperti kami terbatas untuk membantu anak yang kurang beruntung secara ekonomi,” katanya.
Pihaknya mengapresiasi dukungan PT TIMAH Tbk yang telah memberikan perhatian dan dukungan kepada dunia pendidikan. Menurutnya, sinergi ini dapat membantu meningkatkan kualitas sumber daya manusia.
