BANGKA, PERKARANEWS.COM – Politeknik Manufaktur Negeri Bangka Belitung (Polman Babel) menggelar Focus Group Discussion (FGD) Penguatan Pengelolaan Kemitraan Teaching Factory (Tefa) Kompos dalam rangka Program Revitalisasi Perguruan Tinggi Negeri Vokasi (PRPTNV). Kegiatan ini berlangsung di gedung pertemuan Hotel Novila, Selasa (21/10/2025).
Kegiatan tersebut diikuti oleh perwakilan dosen dan tenaga kependidikan Polman Babel serta menghadirkan dua narasumber dari dunia industri, Deasy Dwi Saputra (Dede) dari PT GML dan H. Anwar, pengusaha pupuk organik kompos asal Desa Kimak.
Dalam sambutannya, Wakil Direktur III Polman Babel, Eko Sulistyo, M.T., mengatakan Bangka Belitung perlu bersiap menghadapi berkurangnya sektor tambang sebagai penopang utama ekonomi daerah. Sektor pertambangan lambat laun akan habis, oleh karena itu Polman Babel sebagai perguruan tinggi vokasi harus menyiapkan solusi yang mendukung perekonomian daerah, salah satunya melalui bidang pertanian,” terangnya.
Eko menambahkan, pengembangan pupuk kompos menjadi salah satu langkah strategis dalam mendorong pertanian berkelanjutan di Babel.
“Melalui program Tefa Kompos, kita ingin menghadirkan wahana pembelajaran sekaligus unit usaha yang bermanfaat bagi masyarakat,” jelasnya.
Sementara itu, narasumber dari PT GML, Deasy Dwi Saputra (Dede), memaparkan pemanfaatan limbah pertanian, khususnya dari kelapa sawit, sebagai bahan dasar pembuatan pupuk kompos,” katanya.
Ia menjelaskan pengelolaan limbah cair melalui parit-parit panjang di lahan seluas 258 hektare agar tidak mencemari badan sungai.
“Dengan analisis dan pengolahan yang tepat, limbah bisa menjadi potensi ekonomi baru. Polman Babel dapat berperan dalam menanggulangi limbah ini menjadi produk bernilai jual seperti pupuk kompos,” tuturnya.
Di sisi lain, H. Anwar, pengusaha pupuk organik kompos dari Desa Kimak, berbagi pengalaman panjangnya dalam mengembangkan usaha pupuk sejak tahun 2010. dengan ide tersebut sudah dirintis sejak 2006, dimulai dari kebutuhan pribadi hingga berkembang menjadi usaha komersial.
“Awalnya saya hanya mencoba-coba membuat pupuk untuk keperluan sendiri. Lama-kelamaan, karena hasilnya bagus, akhirnya saya produksi lebih banyak untuk dijual,” ujarnya.
Tak hanya itu, Anwar menyebutkan bahan dasar pupuk kompos yang digunakan berasal dari limbah pabrik kelapa sawit seperti fiber, solid, abu pabrik, kohe kambing atau sapi, air ikan fermentasi, serta dolomit,” pungkasnya.
Suasana FGD berlangsung interaktif dengan banyak sesi tanya jawab seputar proses pembuatan, pemanfaatan, dan peluang bisnis pupuk kompos. Peserta tampak aktif berdiskusi langsung dengan kedua narasumber.
Sebagai tindak lanjut, Polman Babel melakukan penandatanganan perjanjian kerja sama (PKS) dengan PT GML dan pengusaha pupuk kompos Desa Kimak sebagai mitra dalam pengembangan Tefa Kompos ke depan.
Kegiatan diakhiri dengan penyerahan cendera mata sebagai bentuk apresiasi kepada narasumber dan mitra yang telah mendukung pelaksanaan Program Revitalisasi Perguruan Tinggi Negeri Vokasi di Polman Babel. (Adv/Red5)
