BANGKA BARAT, PERKARANEWS.Com- Aktivitas tambang skala besar yang diduga merupakan mitra dari PT Timah di Desa Sinar Surya, Kecamatan Tempilang, Bangka Barat, menjadi sorotan publik. Kondisi lahan di wilayah tersebut tampak hancur dan berlumpur akibat kegiatan tambang yang terus berjalan, bahkan setelah terjadi insiden fatal yang merenggut nyawa pekerja di lokasi yang sama.

Surat edaran resmi dari PT Timah Tbk, bernomor 0024/Tbk/ED-3120/25-S11.1, yang dikeluarkan pada 22 Agustus 2025 dan ditandatangani oleh Kepala Teknik Tambang, Benny Pahala Hutahaean, jelas menyatakan penghentian sementara kegiatan tambang konvensional (TK) di lokasi 2.367 DU1509 L Jambu, Kelurahan/Desa Sinar Surya. Penghentian ini dipicu oleh kecelakaan tambang yang mengakibatkan korban jiwa pada 15 Agustus 2019.

Hal ini menunjukkan bahwa surat teguran resmi dari PT Timah tidak diindahkan oleh pihak mitra. Keadaan ini menimbulkan pertanyaan besar mengenai pengawasan dan kepatuhan terhadap aturan yang berlaku di lapangan.
