Ratusan Pohon Ditanam, PT Timah Hijaukan Kawasan Bekas Tambang di Bangka Barat

BANGKA BARAT,PERKARANEWS – Dalam rangka memperingati Hari Lingkungan Hidup Sedunia 2025, PT Timah Tbk melalui Division Processing and Refinery melaksanakan aksi nyata pelestarian lingkungan dengan menanam 500 pohon di area bekas tambang Gemuruh, Mentok, Kabupaten Bangka Barat, Jumat (20/6/2025).

Kegiatan ini melibatkan karyawan PT Timah yang dimpimpin langsung oleh Division Head Processing and Refinery PT Timah, Sofian Simangunsong. Penanaman pohon juga berkolaborasi dengan Gabungan Kelompok Tani (Gapoktan) Tanjung Jaya, Mentok.

Ratusan pohon yang ditanam seperti Jambu Mete, Cemara Laut, dan Ketapang yang memiliki fungsi ekologis dalam memperbaiki kualitas lingkungan dan mencegah longsor.

Penanaman pohon merupakan salah satu bentuk komitmen perusahaan dalam menjaga kelestarian lingkungan.

“Setelah tahun lalu kami melakukan penanaman pohon di Tanjung Ular, tahun ini kami lanjutkan di area eks tambang Gemuruh. Tujuannya untuk menghijaukan kembali kawasan ini sekaligus mencegah kerusakan lingkungan lebih lanjut,” ujar Departement Head Corporate Communication PT Timah, Anggi Siahaan.

Selain penanaman pohon, PT Timah juga mendorong kepedulian terhadap pengelolaan sampah di kalangan karyawan. Karyawan di Area Mentok diajak untuk memilah sampah dan menjadi nasabah Bank Sampah.

“Pengelolaan sampah dimulai dari internal perusahaan. Harapannya, ini bisa mengedukasi masyarakat agar ikut termotivasi untuk peduli terhadap lingkungan,” tambahnya.

Ketua Gapoktan Tanjung Jaya, Hendrik, menyambut baik kegiatan ini dan mengapresiasi kolaborasi yang telah terjalin selama ini.

“PT Timah selalu melibatkan kami dalam kegiatan penghijauan. Kami merasa sangat dihargai dan berterima kasih atas kepedulian perusahaan terhadap masyarakat dan lingkungan,” tuturnya.

Hal senada disampaikan Bahara, anggota Gapoktan, yang menilai PT Timah sebagai perusahaan yang konsisten menunjukkan kepedulian terhadap lingkungan.

“Penanaman pohon ini bukti nyata bahwa PT Timah peduli dengan keberlanjutan lingkungan dan kesejahteraan warga sekitar,” katanya.

Melalui kegiatan ini, PT Timah kembali menegaskan komitmennya dalam mewujudkan pertambangan yang berkelanjutan dan ramah lingkungan sebagai bagian dari tanggung jawab sosial perusahaan.(Yuko)
