BANGKA BARAT,PERKARANEWS.COM– Gunawan Gafar alias Bang Cecep, tokoh masyarakat Bangka Barat, menyesalkan pernyataan seorang akademisi Universitas Bangka Belitung (UBB) yang menyebut saksi di Mahkamah Konstitusi (MK) yang membongkar praktik money politics atau politik uang dengan sebutan narapidana. Menurutnya, istilah yang tepat adalah warga binaan pemasyarakatan.
“Mantan warga binaan berarti individu yang sudah mendapatkan bimbingan dan pembinaan selama di lembaga pemasyarakatan dan setelahnya di balai pemasyarakatan dari individu yang pernah melakukan kesalahan/pelanggaran hukum agar menjadi individu yang lebih baik dari sebelumnya untuk siap kembali ke tengah masyarakat umum,” ujar Bang Cecep.
Ia menambahkan, masyarakat luas harus bijak dalam menilai dan tidak lagi menghakimi individu yang pernah menjadi warga binaan seolah-olah individu yang jahat dan tidak bisa dipercaya untuk melakukan yang baik dan benar sepanjang hidupnya. Kesalahan yang pernah diperbuat sudah ditebus dengan vonis pengadilan hingga berbagai proses dijalani untuk dapat kembali ke tengah masyarakat dan keluarga.
“Bagaimana mungkin individu yang sudah dibina dan dibekali keterampilan yang baik masih diragukan apalagi dianggap tidak baik. Framing seperti itu tidak mendasar, janganlah karena berbeda kepentingan membuat kita tidak adil memperlakukan sesama manusia,” tegasnya.
Bang Cecep juga mengingatkan bahwa tidak ada manusia yang sempurna dan tidak pernah melakukan kesalahan. Pintu taubat selalu terbuka bagi siapa pun. Oleh karena itu, ia meminta semua pihak untuk tidak merasa paling benar dan tidak akan pernah salah.
“Penjahatnya jauh lebih banyak di luar dan hidup bebas dibandingkan dengan di dalam lapas sebagai warga binaan. Apapun status sosialnya tidaklah menjamin untuk tidak melakukan kejahatan. Jadi jangan merasa paling baik dan paling benar dalam hidupnya, sesungguhnya karena aib mereka masih ditutupi oleh Tuhan Yang Maha Kuasa saja,” pungkasnya.
