PANGKALPINANG,PERKARANEWS – Sebanyak 220 atlet panahan di Provinsi Kepulauan Bangka Belitung ikut bertanding dalam ajang Timah Archery Competition 2024 yang digelar oleh Timah Archery Club (TAC) PT Timah di lapangan TAC yang dimulai pada 13-16 September 2024.
Timah Archery Competition merupakan kompetisi panahan yang digelar setiap tahun untuk mendukung prestasi atlet panahan di Bangka Belitung dalam kompetisi.
Ada sembilan katagori lomba yang dipertandingkan dalam Timah Archery Competition 2024 yakni Nasional Under 9 tahun, Under 12 tahun, Under 15 tahun, Under 18 tahun, Standar Nasional Umum, Barebow 30 meter, Barebow 50, compound 50, recurve 70 meter.
Pembukaan Timah Archery Competition 2024 ini turut dihadiri para atlet, Perwakilan Persatuan Panahan Indonesia (Perpani) Bangka Belitung, Abdul Hakim, Ketua Baporseni PT Timah Ebi Wibisana dan para panitia.
Ketua Pelaksana sekaligus ketua TAC Rio Wahyudi mengatakan, antusias peserta untuk mengikuti kegiatan ini cukup baik. Pasalnya, peserta yang mendaftar mencapai ratusan orang bahkan ada dari Pulau Belitung.
“Peserta cukup antusias mengikuti kegiatan ini, ada 220 atlet dari 19 klub yang ikut mendaftar.
Turnamen ini untuk membangkitkan bakat atlet panahan Babel. Event seperti ini sudah berapa kali digelar TAC,” katanya.
Menurutnya, TAC yang merupakan salah satu organisasi panahan yang berada di bawah naungan PT Timah ingin melanjutkan cita-cita perusahaan untuk memberikan kontribusi positif dalam kemajuan olahraga panahan khsususnya dalam memunculkan bibit-bibit atlet yang diharapkan bisa mengharumkan nama Bangka Belitung.
“Kegiatan ini didukung penuh oleh PT Timah dan ini merupakan upaya kami untuk meneruskan cita-cita perusahaan untuk mendukung kemajuan olaharaga. Apresiasi antusias dari peserta, club, PT Timah dan sponsor,” katanya.
Sementara itu, ketua Baporseni PT Timah Ebbi Wibisana mengatakan, secara historis PT Timah memang berperan aktif untuk mendukung kemajuan olahraga di Bangka Belitung termasuk olahraga panahan.
“PT Timah terus mendukung kemajuan olaharaga di Bangka Belitung termasuk panahan. Dengan adanya kompetisi ini diharapkan dapat melahirkan atlet-atlet panahan Babel yang nantinya bisa mengharumkan nama Bangka Belitung,” ucap Ebbi Wibisana.
Melalui ajang kompetisi ini diharapkan juga dapat memacu semangat bertanding dan berlatih para atlet sehingga nantinya yang belum juara bisa lebih menggiatkan lagi latihannya.
Ketua Bidang Organisasi Perpani Bangka Belitung Abdul Hakim menyebutkan, PT Timah merupakan pionir dalam mendukung kemajuan olaharaga panahan di Bangka Belitung.
“Kami berharap pertandingan seperti ini dapat terus berkelanjutan. Karena memang para atlet panahan Babel harus banyak berkompetisi agar bisa meningkatkan kualitas. Karena saat ini memang atlet panahan Babel masih harus banyak berlatih dan bertanding,” katanya.
“Sepengetahuan kami, PT Timah salah satu penggerak utama dan jadi pionir dalam mendukung atlet panahan di Babel. Kami berharap para atlet juga dapat memanfaatkan kesempatan ini untuk berlatih dan bertanding dengan baik sehingga bisa meningkatkan prestasi,” katanya.
Salah satu atlet panahan yang mengikuti kompetisi ini, Avin Ayab dari Bangka Selatan mengatakan, dirinya sudah mempersiapkan diri untuk mengikuti kompetisi ini. Dalam sepekan ini mereka rutin berlatih.
“Seminggu terkahir ini kami intens latihan untuk persiapan kejuaraan, kalau biasanya seminggu dua kali. Saya berharap akan ada banyak lagi event kejuaraan panahan di Bangka Belitung sehingga kita bisa mengasah kemampuan,” kata Anggota Junjung Besaoh Archery Club ini.
Avin akan bertanding dalam katagori recurve 70 meter. Baginya, yang perlu dipersiapkan untuk pertandingan ini ialah peralatan, mental dan kemampuan dalam membidik papan panahan.(Yuko)
