BEIJING,PERKARANEWS – Kesetaraan dan transparansi merupakan elemen kunci yang sangat penting dalam Inisiatif Jalur Sutera (Belt and Road Initiative) yang digagas oleh Tiongkok. Dalam kegiatan Belt and Road Journalists Forum (BRJF) 2023 di Beijing, Republik Rakyat China (RRC), dari tanggal 12 – 19 Oktober 2023, bertema “Building a Beautiful Silk Road, Jointly Promoting Prosperity and Development” ini, mantan Ketua Umum PWI Pusat, Atal S Depari berbicara di depan forum yang dihadiri 65 wartawan dari 36 negara.
Atal S Depari yang juga Presiden Konfederasi Asosiasi Jurnalis ASEAN (CAJ), mengangkat diskusi bertema “Membangun Jalur Sutra yang Indah, Bersama-sama Mendorong Kemakmuran dan Pembangunan,” sebuah topik yang sangat penting dalam konteks global saat ini.
“Jalur Sutra, dulunya merupakan jaringan jalur perdagangan kuno yang menghubungkan Timur dan Barat, melambangkan tidak hanya perdagangan bersejarah namun juga pertukaran dan kerja sama budaya. Saat ini, di abad ke-21, Inisiatif Sabuk dan Jalan Tiongkok berupaya menghidupkan kembali dan memperluas warisan sejarah ini, membina kerja sama dan konektivitas antar negara. Jurnalis memainkan peran penting dalam membentuk persepsi dan pemahaman publik terhadap upaya ambisius ini,” kata Atal S Depari, Kamis (12/10/2023).
Dikatakannya, dalam semangat persatuan dan kolaborasi, PWI dan CAJ sangat yakin bahwa jurnalisme harus menjadi jembatan, bukan penghalang, dalam perjalanan menuju dunia yang lebih saling terhubung. Profesi kami mengemban tanggung jawab untuk meningkatkan pemahaman, memfasilitasi dialog, dan meminta pertanggungjawaban pihak yang berkuasa.
“Merupakan tugas kita untuk memberikan cakupan Inisiatif Sabuk dan Jalan yang akurat, seimbang, dan komprehensif, menyoroti peluang, tantangan, dan dampaknya terhadap masyarakat yang terkena dampaknya,” tegas Atal.
Untuk membangun Jalur Sutra yang indah di era modern, menurut Presiden CAJ ini, kita harus fokus pada beberapa prinsip utama:
1. Transparansi: Pemerintah, dunia usaha, dan organisasi yang terlibat dalam Inisiatif Sabuk dan Jalan harus memprioritaskan transparansi dalam operasi mereka. Keterbukaan ini memungkinkan jurnalis untuk melaporkan secara akurat dan membantu membangun kepercayaan antar negara.
2. Pertukaran Budaya: Jalur Sutra bukan hanya tentang perdagangan; itu adalah saluran pertukaran ide, budaya, dan tradisi. Jurnalis harus menyoroti kekayaan budaya yang dapat dijalin oleh Inisiatif Sabuk dan Jalan, serta memupuk rasa saling menghormati dan menghargai.
3. Pembangunan Berkelanjutan: Sebagai jurnalis, kita harus memantau dengan cermat dampak lingkungan dan sosial dari proyek-proyek di sepanjang Belt and Road. Pembangunan yang bertanggung jawab dan berkelanjutan sangat penting bagi keberhasilan jangka panjang dan keselarasan inisiatif ini.
4. Inklusivitas: Inisiatif Sabuk dan Jalan harus memberikan manfaat bagi semua negara yang berpartisipasi, bukan hanya segelintir orang saja. Jurnalis harus memperkuat suara komunitas yang terpinggirkan dan memastikan bahwa peluang dapat diakses oleh semua orang.
5. Resolusi Konflik: Dalam pemberitaan, kita juga harus memperhatikan potensi konflik yang mungkin timbul akibat perbedaan kepentingan dan cara pandang. Mempromosikan dialog dan penyelesaian perselisihan secara damai sangat penting bagi keberhasilan inisiatif ini.
“Kesimpulannya, Inisiatif Satu Sabuk Satu Jalan (Belt and Road Initiative) merupakan upaya monumental yang menjanjikan kemakmuran dan pembangunan yang lebih besar bagi negara-negara yang berpartisipasi. Namun, untuk benar-benar membangun Jalur Sutra yang indah, kita harus menerapkan transparansi, pertukaran budaya, keberlanjutan, inklusivitas, dan resolusi konflik,” kata Atal Depari.
Sebagai jurnalis, lanjutnya, merupakan tanggung jawab kita untuk menjunjung prinsip-prinsip ini, memberikan pandangan yang jelas dan tidak memihak kepada dunia mengenai kemajuan inisiatif ini. Dengan melakukan hal ini, kita dapat berkontribusi pada upaya kolektif untuk menciptakan masa depan yang lebih baik bagi semua negara yang terlibat dalam Inisiatif Satu Sabuk Satu Jalan.
