KUNDUR, PERKARANEWS.COM — Sebagai bagian dari komitmen dalam mendukung pengembangan potensi wisata bahari dan pelestarian ekosistem laut di Kabupaten Karimun, PT Timah memberikan dukungan kegiatan lomba mancing yang digelar oleh Karang Taruna Desa Pongkar.
Lomba mancing yang dilaksanakan di Pantai Ketam, Desa Pongkar, Kecamatan Tebing, Kabupaten Karimun ini disambut antusias oleh nelayan dan masyarakat pada 7 September lalu.
Kegiatan digelar di dalam rangka memeringati HUT ke-80 RI ini diikuti sebanyak 414 peserta yang merupakan nelayan maupun masyarakat umum dari berbagai wilayah, sehingga menjadi ajang silaturahmi sekaligus promosi potensi wisata Pantai Ketam.
Ketua Karang Taruna Desa Pongkar, Kecamatan Tebing Deni Haryadi mengatakan, perlombaan ini disambut antusias, hal ini terbukti dengan ratusan peserta yang mengikuti lomba.
“Kami melaksanakan lomba mancing yang didukung oleh PT Timah sebagai upaya untuk mengajak semua pihak untuk menjaga ekosistem laut sekaligus mengenalkan wisata Pantai Batu Ketam agar semakin dikenal. Sekaligus ini menjadi momen silaturahmi,” katanya.
Pihaknya mengapresiasi dukungan PT Timah yang turut menyuskseskan acara ini, dirinya berharap sinergi dan kolaborasi ini dapat terus berlanjut sehingga lomba mancing ini bisa menjadi agenda rutin tahunan yang digelar.
“Terima kasih PT Timah yang telah mendukung kegiatan ini, semoga nantinya ini bisa dilaksankan secara rutin atau setiap tahun karena animo peserta yang ikut cukup banyak,” katanya.
Menurutnya, bukan hanya kali ini saja, PT Timah juga kerap mendukung kegiatan pelestarian lingkungan di wilayah mereka salah satunya dengan penanaman mangrove.
“Penanaman mangrove yang dilakukan di pesisir pantai sudah dirasakan manfaatnya oleh nelayan, selain menjaga ekosistem juga berdampak pada peningkatan hasil tangkapan nelayan,” ujarnya. (Yuko)
