BANGKA, PERKARANEWS.COM — PT Timah Tbk kembali memberikan beasiswa pendidikan jenjang SMA bagi 36 siswa yang telah lulus dalam program Pemali Boarding School PT Timah pada SMAN 1 Pemali tahun Ajaran 2025/2026
Puluhan siswa yang lulus berasal dari berbagai Provinsi di wilayah operasional perusahaan seperti dari Provinsi Kepulauan Bangka Belitung, Provinsi Kepulauan Riau dan Provinsi Riau. Sebelumnya para pelajar sudah diserah terimakan pada pekan lalu.
Seluruh penerima beasiswa Pemali Boarding School merupakan siswa-siswa terpilih yang telah berhasil menaklukkan serangkaian tes mulai administrasi, kesehatan, psikotes, tee potensi akademik dan survei lapangan.
Para penerima beasiswa datang dari latar belakang dan daerah yang berbeda. Meskipun berasal dari pelosok-pelosok yang berjauhan, semangat mereka untuk belajar dan meraih masa depan tidak pernah surut.
Salah satunya adalah Sarah Syazana Aghina siswi asal Kundur, Kepulauan Riau. Di usianya yang baru menginjak 15 tahun, Sarah menempuh perjalanan jauh seorang diri ke Pulau Bangka untuk memulai pendidikan di Pemali Boarding School. Tanpa pendampingan orang tua, Sarah berani meninggalkan kampung halamannya demi menggapai cita-cita.
“Waktu awal tahu ada program ini, sarah sangat berharap sarah diterima agar bisa menempuh pendidikan yang berkualitas dan membuktikan ke orang tua kalau sarah mampu menjadi anak yang mandiri. Sarah rela untuk berjauhan dari keluarga dan teman untuk menggapai cita-cita sarah,” cerita Sarah.
Sambil berkaca-kaca, Sarah mengungkapkan rasa syukurnya kepada PT Timah yang telah memberikan kesempatan baginya untuk mendapatkan pendidikan secara gratis dan berkualitas.
“Alhamdulillah sarah bisa bersekolah gratis dengan kualitas yang bagus, sarah sangat berterima kasih kepada PT Timah yang sudah memberikan kesempatan bagi sarah untuk mendapatkan beasiswa pemali boarding school,” ungkapnya.
Di balik semangat para penerima beasiswa Pemali Boarding School, ada peran besar sekolah yang akan menjadi rumah kedua mereka selama tiga tahun ke depan. SMA Negeri 1 Pemali sebagai mitra program Pemali Boarding School memiliki tanggung jawab besar dalam mendampingi perjalanan para siswa-siswi.
Kepala Sekolah SMA Negeri 1 Pemali, Eflina memberikan apresiasi dan dukungannya terhadap para siswa-siswi yang berasal dari berbagai wilayah operasional PT Timah.
“Anak-anak ini datang dari berbagai daerah, semangatnya sangat luar biasa. Saya juga sempat menyapa anak-anak dan memberikan dukungan penuh untuk mereka menempuh pendidikan di SMA Negeri 1 Pemali,” ucapnya.
Sebagai Kepala Sekolah SMA Negeri 1 Pemali, Eflina berpendapat bahwa siswa-siswi program Pemali Boarding School memiliki karakter yang sedikit berbeda dari siswa-siswi lainnya di SMA Negeri 1 Pemali.
“Untuk anak-anak penerima beasiswa pemali boarding school ini saya rasa memiliki karakteristik yang cukup berbeda dengan yang lainnya. Mungkin karena mereka juga ditempa dengan pendidikan karakter dan kepemimpinan yang baik di Asrama, mereka menjadi anak yang pemberani, percaya diri, dan mental seorang pemimpin,” Jelasnya.
Program beasiswa Pemali Boarding School telah berlangsung selama lebih dari 2 dekade. Program ini memberikan beasiswa penuh yang menerapkan sistem pendidikan berasrama untuk membentuk karakter, kedisiplinan, dan kepemimpinan siswa-siswi.
Melalui program ini PT Timah berkomitmen untuk mendukung peningkatan kualitas sumber daya manusia di lingkar tambang yang nantinya akan dipersiapkan menjadi pemimpin masa depan. (Adv/Yuko)
