PANGKALPINANG,PERKARANEWS – PT Timah terus mendukung program Pemerintah dalam mewujudkan lingkungan yang sehat dan bersih sebagai upaya untuk meningkatkan kualitas hidup masyarakat, salah satunya mendukung peningkatan dan penyediaan sanitasi masyarakat di wilayah operasional perusahaan.
Melalui program Tanggung Jawab Sosial Lingkungan (TJSL), PT Timah membangun fasilitas sanitasi berupa jamban dan WC di berbagai fasilitas umum dan pemukiman warga di wilayah operasional perusahaan.
Program ini menjadi bagian dari upaya PT Timah mendukung target pemerintah dalam mewujudkan Open Defecation Free (ODF) atau Stop Buang Air Besar Sembarangan di masyarakat.
Pembangunan fasilitas sanitasi ini diharapkan dapat mendorong perubahan perilaku hidup bersih dan sehat, sehingga dapat meminimalisir potensi penyebaran penyakit akibat sanitasi yang buruk.
PT Timah Tbk telah membangun 24 unit fasilitas sanitasi untuk masyarakat di wilayah operasional Perusahaan seperti di Provinsi Kepulauan Bangka Belitung. Hal ini selaras dengan upaya perusahaan dalam mendukung Tujuan Pembangunan Berkelanjutan (SDGs) khususnya di bidang kesehatan, sanitasi, dan lingkungan.
“Perusahaan berkomitmen untuk mendukung peningkatan kualitas hidup masyarakat, melalui peningkatan akses dan mutu layanan kesehatan masyarakat juga penyehatan sanitasi pemukiman,” ujar Departement Head Corporate Communication PT Timah, Anggi Siahaan.
Fasilitas sanitasi yang telah dibangun diharapkan dapat dimanfaatkan oleh masyarakat sehingga dapat mencipatkan lingkungan yang sehat dan bersih yang berdampak pada peningkatan kualitas kesehatan masyarakat.(Yuko)
