Sambut Atlet PON XX 2021 dengan 2 Medali Emas, Pj Gubernur Sugito: Ternyata Kita Bisa

PANGKALPINANG,PERKARANEWS – Hasil membanggakan datang dari para atlet kontingen Kepulauan Bangka Belitung (Kep. Babel) pada pergelaran Pekan Olahraga Nasional (PON) XXI Tahun 2024, hingga saat ini (15/09) Kep. Babel menduduki peringkat 25 sementara dengan 2 medali emas, 2 medali perak, dan 6 medali perunggu. Capaian tersebut telah melampaui edisi sebelumnya pada PON XX 2021 yang hanya meraih 1 medali emas dengan menduduki peringkat 32.

Apresiasi datang dari sejumlah pihak, tak terkecuali Pj (Penjabat) Gubernur Kep. Babel Sugito yang menyambut kepulangan salah satu pahlawan olahraga Kep. Babel peraih medali emas cabang olahraga (Cabor) Hapkido, Erwinsyah beserta pelatih dan rombongan di Terminal Kedatangan Bandara Depati Amir, Minggu (15/09/2024).

“Atas nama Pemerintah Kepulauan Bangka Belitung dan seluruh masyarakat tentunya kami sangat bangga dan berterima kasih, atas perjuangan dan capaian yang sementara ini telah diraih oleh para atlet kontingen Babel. Sampai dengan hari ini capaian medali kita telah melampui PON sebelumnya, meski tentu kita masih menunggu kabar baik dari Cabor yang masih akan bertanding, namun capaian sementara ini telah membuktikan bahwa ternyata kita bisa lebih baik dan harus semakin baik,” jelas Pj. Gubernur Sugito.

Sementara itu, atlet Hapkido Erwinsyah mengatakan dirinya tidak pernah menyangka atas raihan emas yang ia dapatkan. Sebab menurutnya, lawan yang ia hadapi pada ajang nasional kali ini bukan lawan yang mudah.

“Tidak pernah menyangka membawa pulang medali emas untuk Babel, walaupun tentu kalau bicara target semua atlet pasti inginnya meraih medali emas dan semua atlet pasti akan menunjukan yang terbaik untuk meraih itu,” ungkap Erwinsyah.

Selain Erwinsyah, nama lain peraih medali emas untuk Kep. Babel ialah Atika Putriani dari Cabor Olahraga Pencak Silat yang dijadwalkan tiba di Pangkalpinang pada sore hari yang sama. Kep. Babel juga masih mungkin menambah raihan medali untuk menuntaskan target 4 medali emas dari Cabor yang akan bertanding yakni atletik, menembak, aeromodelling, dan voli pasir.

Keberhasilan perolehan sementara para atlet tentu tidak lepas dari pembinaan sejumlah pihak, di antaranya Komite Olahraga Nasional Indonesia (KONI) Kep. Babel yang sudah mengambil langkah cepat untuk melaksanakan pembinaan lanjutan guna mempersiapkan kualifikasi PON 2027 dengan melakukan pembinaan terhadap para atlet peraih medali PON XXI Tahun 2024 serta seleksi atlet potensial lainnya. Sedang untuk para atlet penyumbang medali PON XXI yang dilaksanakan di Aceh-Sumut ini Pemerintah juga telah menyiapkan bonus uang pembinaan hingga 250 juta rupiah.(Yuko)
