Sejak Dibangun Trotoar Baru Tiang Titik Nol Pulau Bangka di Gereja Maranatha Hilang ?

PANGKALPINANG,PERKARANEWS — Titik Nol Kilometer (KM) Pulau Bangka khususnya Kota Pangkalpinang terdapat didepan halaman gereja Maranatha hilang sejak dibangun trotoar di jalan Jenderal Sudirman Kota Pangkalpinang, Selasa (13/2/2024).

Tiang Titik Nol Km (bersebelahan dengan patok Titik Nol) itu nampaknya sudah terlalu kecil dan rendah sehingga tidak lagi terlihat pada kejauhan. Apalagi pada saat lalulintas padat, kecuali sedang berdiri di dekatnya.

Sejak dibangun trotoar baru tiang Titik Nol tersebut sudah tidak terlihat lagi. Jalan Merdeka terdapat seberang Rumah Dinas tempat kediaman Wali Kota Pangkalpinang sekarang.

Bangunan yang terlihat di tengah foto itu adalah Kantor Polresta dulu, yang menentukan letak Titik Nol itu tentu Pemerintah Kolonial Belanda dulu. Bagi penduduk Kota Pangkalpinang sekarangpun mungkin ada yang tidak tahu atau tidak peduli akan keberadaannya dimana.

Dikutip dari halaman Media Sosial Kampoeng Urang Bangka Pada satu periode zaman kolonial Belanda dulu pulau Bangka/Belitung menjadi wilayah keresidenan dipimpin oleh seorang Residen, berkedudukan di kota Mentok, Sejak tanggal 13 September 1913 kedudukan Residen dipindahlan ke Pangkalpinang.

Secara tidak jelas ketepatannya pada masa itulah penetapan Titik Nol pulau Bangka ditetapkan. Pemindahan dari Mentok ke Pangkalpinang karena Pangkalpinang letaknya di tengah pulau Bangka lebih efisien dalam pengaturan dan keperluan lainnya.

Katanya dari Titik Nol itu diharapkan kota berkembang ke arah Utara. Memang kenyataannya satu kelurahan dari Kabupaten Bangka sudah dimasukkan kedalam wilayah Kotamadya Pangkalpinang.

Lalu sejarah Titik Nolnya tadi ? Ya Titik Nolnya itu dianggap berada di tengah kota pemerintahan pada zaman itu yang terletak disebelah Utara sungai Rangkui yang membelah Kota Pangkalpinang menjadi dua, bagian Utara dan bagian Selatan. Disebelah Selatan sungai terdapat Masjid Jami’ yang sekarang menjadi Masjid terbesar, dan perkampungan Tionghoa berikut berkembangnya pasar.

Di Selatan juga terdapat tempat pekuburan orang-orang Belanda disebut Kerkhoft (bacanya: kerk (gereja)-hoft, di mulut penduduk menjadi: kerkop; gampang kan? Sekarang lokasi itu menjadi daerah cagar budaya yang keberadaannya dilindungi oleh Undang-Undang). Sebelum pecah Perang Dunia ke-II di sebelah Selatan juga sudah dibangun lapangan terbang perintis terletak di Kampung Dul kira-kira 10 kilometer dari Titik Nol.

Lapangan terbang yang sudah beroperasi terlebih dahulu terdapat di Mentok yang sekarang lapangannya sudah menjadi pemukiman penduduk karena digantikan oleh lapangan terbang Kampung Duil sekarang bandara Depati Amir itu.
Dari titik nol tadi ditarik jarak kearah Barat.

Terdapat Pal 138 km sekitar seratus meter lagi sampai ke bibir pantai. Paal (baca: pa:l) adalah bahasa Belanda yang berarti tiang atau tonggak dalam hal ini berukuran setinggi lutut atau lebih yang dipasang tiap berjarak 1 km, jaraknya lebih pendek daripada ke Mentok, yaitu ke Toboali 125 Km dan ke Belinyu 87 Km.

Di Google Maps Kota Pangkalpinang disebut Pangkalan Baru. Padahal Pangkalan Baru lain, Pangkalpinang lain. Ketika (Kabupaten) Bangka masih di bawah Palembang, maka salah satu kecamatannya yang baru dibentuk diberi nama Pangkalan Baru (nama kecamatan bukan nama Kota).

Sekarang wilayah kecamatan itu masuk Kabupaten Bangka Tengah dengan ibukotanya Koba, tempat terdapat perusahaan tambang timah pma bernama PT. KOBA TIN yang semula dikelola Australia kemudian Malaysia.

Titik Nol pulau Bangka juga adalah Titik Nol Kota Pangkalpinang seperti yang nampak tertuilis pada tugu atau pal: PKP 0. Sedikit didepannya terdapat tanda patok milik PU. Di samping kanan patok PU ini terdapat patok yang lebih rendah dan kecil pula milik Badan Pertanahan Nasional sebagai koordinat pedoman pengukuran letak kedudukan tanah.

Didepannya tampak tiang Nol Km lama yang tidak terdapat papan penunjuk jarak Km alias tidak dipakai lagi, digantikan oleh tiang yang tetap rendah terlihat ada papan kuning di atasnya. Tidak terdapat penjelasan apapun. (Yuko)
