PANGKALAN BARU,PERKARANEWS -Pemerintah Kabupaten Bangka Tengah melakukan penandatanganan Kesepakatan Bersama atau Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) dengan PT ThorCon Power Indonesia. Penandatangan kesepakatan bersama ini dilaksanakan di Ruang Batu Bedaun III, Hotel Soll Marina, pada Senin (20/11/2023).
Penandatangan ini dilakukan oleh Bupati Bangka Tengah, Algafry Rahman, bersama dengan Bob S. Efendi selaku Direktur Operasi PT ThorCon Power Indonesia serta dihadiri oleh Bangka Branch Office Manager PT ThorCon Power Indonesia, Asisten Pemerintahan dan Kesejahteraan Rakyat Sekretariat Daerah (Setda) Bangka Tengah, Asisten Ekonomi dan Pembangunan Setda Bangka Tengah, serta Kepala OPD se-Bangka Tengah.
Sebagai informasi, PT ThorCon Power Indonesia akan membangun Pembangkit Listrik Tenaga Nuklir (PLTN) di Pulau Kelasa atau dikenal juga dengan Pulau Gelasa, Desa Batu Beriga, Kecamatan Lubuk Besar, Kabupaten Bangka Tengah. PLTN ini akan menggunakan energi terbarukan, yakni thorium atau dikenal nantinya dengan PLTT (Pembangkit Listrik Tenaga Thorium).
Algafry menuturkan penandatanganan kesepakatan ini adalah bagian dari tindak lanjut surat dari Menteri Dalam Negeri perihal rekomendasi untuk dibuatkannya kesepakatan bersama antara PT ThorCon Power Indonesia dengan Pemerintah Provinsi Kepulauan Bangka Belitung dan Pemerintah Kabupaten Bangka Tengah.
Algafry menjelaskan hal ini untuk memudahkan akselarasi terkait tahapan-tahapan yang ada dalam kajian yang akan dilakukan PT ThorCon Power Indonesia bersama stakeholder terkait, seperti Bapeten (Badan Pengawas Tenaga Nuklir) dan DEN (Dewan Energi Nasional).
“Kesepakatan ini guna mendukung kerja sama dalam penyediaan pelayanan publik yang bergerak di bidang energi baru berbasis teknologi yakni Thorium Molten Salt Reactor (TMSR-500). Jadi kita harapkan setelah penandatanganan ini, maka dapat segera ditindaklanjuti dengan sosialisasi dan edukasi yang akurat kepada masyarakat,” ungkapnya.
Sementara itu, Bob S. Efendi mengapresiasi kerja sama yang luar biasa mulai dari pusat, provinsi maupun dengan pemerintah kabupaten. Menurutnya, pembangunan PLTT ini merupakan suatu hal yang bersejarah bagi Bangsa Indonesia serta menjadi perubahan bagi Bangka Belitung, khususnya Bangka Tengah.
