PANGKALPINANG,Perkaranews – Wali Kota Pangkalpinang melalui Asisten Perekonomian dan Pembangunan Sekretariat Daerah Kota Pangkalpinang, Suryo Kusbandoro hadiri Musyawarah Daerah (Musda) Ke-1 Pemerhati Jurnalis Siber (PJS) Kepulauan Bangka Belitung dan Pengukuhan Pengurus DPC PJS se-Bangka Belitung di Ruang OR Kantor Wali Kota Pangkalpinang, Sabtu (12/8/2023).
“Harapan kami agar jurnalis nanti bisa berkompeten yakni ahli dibidangnya, dan berintegritas yaitu memiliki jati diri. Selain itu, Profesionalisme untuk jurnalis siber ini perlu ditingkatkan secara terus menerus”, ujar Suryo dalam sambutan sekaligus membuka Musda.
Selaku Ketua Umum DPP PJS, Mahmud Marhaba menyebut PJS adalah kumpulan para wartawan jurnalis siber. PJS berkomitmen mewujudkan jurnalis yang berintegritas, kompeten dan profesional.
“Anggota PJS wajib ikut pelatihan jurnalistik, agar kompeten, makanya ikut Uji Kompetensi Wartawan”, jelas Mahmud.
Ia menerangkan, pertumbuhan media saat ini sebanyak 54 ribu menggunakan kanal berbasis internet, di Bangka Belitung ada sekitar 400an media siber.
“Hadirnya PJS untuk menghimpun agar tidak menjadi liar dan benar-benar terarah. Sehingga kita harus menyadari bahwa peran jurnalis dan LSM itu berbeda”, tukasnya.
Musda Ke-1 PJS dan Pengukuhan Pengurus DPC PJS se-Bangka Belitung yang mengangkat tema “Mewujudkan Jurnalis Kompeten, Menuju PJS Sebagai Konstituen Dewan Pers” dihadiri oleh puluhan jurnalis siber serta Forum Komunikasi Pimpinan Daerah (Forkopimda) Bangka Belitung dan Kota Pangkalpinang. (Yuko)
