   Wette verloren, als er, wie Nicky sich „erinnert“, tatsächlich die Punkte holte und demzufolge auf der Stelle bezahlt werden sollte.

   Sportwettern gefällt diese Szene mit Nicky, als er in ein Sportwetten-Lokal geht und einen Buchmacher wegen einer „missverstandenen“ Wette
   konfrontiert. Wir konnten auf keinen Fall den Teil auslassen, in dem einem
   FBI-Flugzeug beim Verfolgen von Nicky während einer Golfrunde das Benzin ausgeht
   und das Flugzeug auf dem Fairway landen muss, direkt vor dem Haus
   von Ace.
   Die Geschichte von „Casino“ ist zwar fiktiv, wurde aber von vielen tatsächlichen Begebenheiten und Charakteren inspiriert.
   Obwohl Ace genau weiß, dass sie noch immer an ihrem früheren Zuhälter Lester (James Woods)
   hängt und seine Gefühle nicht wirklich erwidert, kann er sich nicht von ihr lösen und
   verliert allmählich die Kontrolle über sein Leben. Alles läuft perfekt, bis
   eines Tages die atemberaubende Edel-Prostituierte Ginger McKenna (Sharon Stone)
   in sein Leben tritt und er sich in sie verliebt.
   Wie in einem Casino, in dem die Verführung des schnellen Gewinns lockt, zeigt
   Scorsese in diesem Film, wie die Gier zum unausweichlichen Ruin führt.
   Joe Pesci macht den Eindruck des unberechenbaren Nicky Santoro, und Sharon Stone spielt
   die verführerische Ginger McKenna. Korruption, Betrug und brutale Machtkämpfe bestimmen den Alltag hinter den Kulissen des Casinos.
   Der Film zeigt, wie Sam „Ace“ Rothstein, brillant gespielt von Robert De Niro, die Kontrolle über das Tangiers Casino
   übernimmt und damit der Mafia zu ungeahnten Gewinnen verhilft.
