Upaya penanganan stunting yang dilakukan PT Timah juga selaras dengan program Pemerintah untuk mengentaskan stunting di Indonesia menuju Indonesia Emas 2045 mendatang.

PT Timah tidak hanya fokus pada penanganan stunting, namun juga terlibat aktif dalam kampanye pencegahan stunting dengan memberikan literasi kesehatan bagi kelompok remaja dan ibu-ibu melalui Program Kegiatan Menurunkan Stunting (Kemunting).

Atas perhatian yang besar terhadap stunting, PT Timah pada Agustus 2023 lalu mendapatkan penghargaan dari Ikatan Pekerja Sosial Masyarakat (IPSM) Provinsi Kepulauan Bangka Belitung. PT Timah dinilai sebagai salah satu perusahaan yang telah berperan dalam penanganan stunting dan pengentasan kemiskinan di Babel.

Ketua Umum IPSM Bangka Belitung, Doddy Dirnadi menilai, PT Timah telah berperan aktif dalam penanganan stunting dan kemiskinan di Babel.

PT Timah pernah melaksanakan program Kemunting di Kabupaten Belitung Timur yang turut disambut antusias oleh pihak kecamatan. Seperti yang disampaikan Camat Damar, Arief Firmansyah memberikan apresiasi PT Timah Tbk yang telah melakukan sosialiasi kesehatan tentang stunting.

Menurut Arief, penanganan stunting itu harus dilakukan bersama-sama. Langkah penanggulangan stunting, menurutnya, dimulai dari kesehatan hingga fasilitas, seperti ketersedian jamban dan air bersih. Lalu, faktor ekonomi serta pola asuh yang juga berdampak terhadap stunting itu.

“Di Desa Mengkubang ini, berdasarkan hasil verifikasi dan evaluasi bahwa ketersedian air bersih terpenuhi dan jamban ada enam rumah tangga belum memiliki jamban,” jelasnya

Arief menerangkan, Kecamatan Damar terus optimis membantu Pemkab Beltim dalam menanggulangi masalah stunting. Dengan adanya sosialisasi ini, kata dia, dapat membantu Pemerintah dalam mengedukasi masyarakat.

“Di Mengkubang ada 10 keluarga masuk dalam kategori beresiko stunting, dan 26 orang yang stunting,” sebutanya.

Sementara itu, Kepala Dinas Kesehatan Kabupaten Bangka Barat, Muhamad Syafe’i Rangkuti mengatakan, sosialisasi kepada para pelajar di wilayah mereka terkait stunting sangat positif.

Dengan kampanye yang menyasar pada remaja seperti ini diharapkan para pelajar menjadi agen perubahan dalam menanggulangi stunting. Percuma pemerintah melakukan sosialisasi dan penyuluhan, apabila remajanya sendiri tidak menjadi bagian aktif dalam misi ini.
