PANGKALPINANG,Perkaranews – Sebanyak 10.000 bibit pohon ditanam secara serentak di seluruh Kabupaten dan Kota di Provinsi Kepulauan Bangka Belitung (Kep. Babel). Kegiatan ini pun juga dilakukan di seluruh Indonesia oleh anggota Kepolisian Republik Indonesia (Polri). Atas inisiatif program yang positif ini, Penjabat (Pj) Gubernur Kep. Babel Suganda Pandapotan Pasaribu memberikan apresiasi kegiatan Penanaman Pohon “Polri Lestarikan Negeri, Penghijauan Sejak dini” di Lahan Bekas Tambang Timah, Sebelah BLK Provinsi Kep. Babel, Rabu (23/8/2023).
“Terima kasih Pak Kapolda, atas gerakan-gerakan yang telah dilakukan. Ini menjadi salah satu contoh yang dapat menjadi panutan bagi kita semua. Saya sangat mengapresiasi ini,” ujar Pj Gubernur.
Terlebih lagi, dikatakan oleh Pj Gubernur, lahan kritis yang ada di Kep. Babel tergolong luas dan terus bertambah dari waktu ke waktu, dikarenakan aktivitas pertambangan yang tidak bertanggung jawab.
“Lahan kritis kita sangat luas, dan semakin lama semakin bertambah, data Tahun 2022 mencapai 167.104 Ha. Maka dari itu saya berterima kasih kepada Pak Kapolda. Semoga dengan kegiatan ini, lahan kritis yang ada di Kep. Babel dapat berkurang,” ujarnya.
Kapolda Kep. Babel Irjen Pol Yan Sultra mengatakan bahwa kegiatan ini memang bertujuan untuk menjaga bumi, menjaga kelestarian pohon endemik, dan menjaga ekosistem alam. Yang mana ini menjadi salah satu bukti kecintaan terhadap tanah air.
“Kegiatan penanaman bibit pohon ini merupakan salah satu bentuk mengisi dan memaknai Kemerdekaan RI. Di mana ini menjadi bentuk kepeduliaan dan kecintaan bersamaan menjaga bumi, yang mana ini wajib kita jaga bersama,” ujar Kapolda.
Diketahui pohon yang ditanam di Provinsi Kep. Babel di antaranya: 1000 bibit kayu putih, 900 bibit jambu mete, 600 bibit pohon pinang, 4300 bibit mangrove, 500 bibit ketapang, 200 bibit alpukat, 200 bibit durian, 200 bibit mahoni, 100 bibit sukun, 300 bibit cemara laut, 1000 bibit belangir, 600 bibit mangga, dan 100 bibit camplung.
Dalam kesempatan ini pula, Pj Gubernur memberikan usulan, untuk penanaman selanjutnya dapat mempertimbangkan penanaman pohon sagu. Hal ini, dikarenakan untuk mendukung program nasional pula. Yang mana, Indonesia merupakan salah satu penghasil sagu terbesar di dunia. Selain itu, Kep. Babel merupakan daerah yang memiliki peluang bagus untuk mengembangkan sagu. (Yuko)
