Bangka Tengah,PerkaraNews.com – Pusat Pelatihan Pertanian dan Pedesaan Swadaya (P4S) Ma’iisyah Mulia gelar penanaman sorgum bersama Bupati Bangka Tengah di lahan percontohan sorgum yang terletak di depan Stadion Futsal, GOR Bangka Tengah, Jumat (17/03/2023) sore.
Kegiatan ini merupakan wujud sinergitas kelembagaan petani dalam pencanangan program Food Estate khususnya diversifikasi pangan, dengan dilaksanakannya penanaman sorgum oleh P4S Ma’iisyah Mulia. Gerakan penanaman sorgum ini dilakukan terutama dengan memanfaatkan sistem penanaman tumpang sari pada lahan-lahan pertanian yang ada, lahan-lahan tidur, serta lahan kritis.
Algafry Rahman selaku Bupati Bangka Tengah yang turut hadir saat penanaman sorgum menyampaikan bahwa anjuran pemanfatan lahan tidur ini merupakan salah satu arahan dari Presiden RI, Joko Widodo.
“Alhamdulillah, hari ini kita menanam sorgum di lahan tidur milik Pemerintah Kabupaten Bangka Tengah. Kita mengupayakan lahan-lahan yang masih produktif dan belum terpakai akan kita manfaatkan,” ucapnya.
Ia juga mengajak masyarakat untuk memanfaatkan lahan-lahan tidur dengan menanam sorgum, terlebih karena semua bagian tumbuhan sorgum ini dapat dimanfaatkan.
“Sudah kita lihat tadi hasil olahan sorgum ini, mereka kembangkan lagi menjadi produk-produk seperti nugget, mie, dan lainnya. Kita ketahui dari semua bagian sorgum ini bermanfaat, baik itu bunga, batang, daun, dan semuanya, serba bermanfaat. Ini sebagai titik awal bagi kita juga, bagaimana kita meningkatkan ketahanan pangan,” lanjutnya.
Di tempat yang sama H. Aries Hendrata selaku Ketua P4S Ma’iisyah Mulia menyampaikan bahwa tanaman sorgum merupakan jenis tanaman yang mudah sekali tumbuh. Hal ini disebutnya sangat potensial untuk dikembangkan bahkan bagi pemula sekalipun.
“Kita di Bangka Belitung ini kaya dengan lahan tapi masih banyak yang belum kita manfaatkan. Solusinya dapat kita manfatkan dengan menanam sorgum karena tumbuhan ini mudah sekali tumbuh, walaupun kita tidak memiliki ilmu bertani,” ujar Aries. (R5/RLS)
