Student E-Polman Negeri Babel Hadirkan Kreativitas Bahasa Inggris

BANGKA, PERKARANEWS.COM – Politeknik Manufaktur Negeri Bangka Belitung (Polman Babel) kembali menghadirkan suasana semarak di lantai 4 Gedung Kuliah Bersama pada Selasa (14/10/2025). Melalui Unit Kegiatan Mahasiswa (UKM) UKBI English, kampus ini menggelar lomba bertajuk E-Motion (English Through Music and Expression) yang memadukan seni, ekspresi, dan keterampilan berbahasa Inggris dalam satu panggung kreatif.

 

Kegiatan ini menjadi wadah bagi mahasiswa untuk menyalurkan bakat dan meningkatkan kemampuan berbahasa Inggris secara menyenangkan. Ada dua kategori lomba yang dipertandingkan, Solo Singing Competition dan Storytelling Competition, dengan total 35 peserta dari berbagai jurusan di Polman Babel.

Untuk kategori Solo Singing Competition, sebanyak 24 peserta tampil memukau di depan para juri, Charlotha, M.Tr.T., dan Robert Napitupulu, M.T. Mereka dinilai berdasarkan pelafalan, penghayatan lagu, serta kepercayaan diri saat tampil di atas panggung. Suasana pun semakin hidup ketika para peserta membawakan lagu-lagu berbahasa Inggris dengan penuh semangat.

 

Sementara itu, kategori Storytelling Competition diikuti oleh 11 peserta yang menampilkan kisah-kisah inspiratif dalam bahasa Inggris. Kompetisi ini dinilai oleh dua juri berpengalaman, Veniati, M.Pd., dan Titin Indriati, M.Pd. Para peserta tidak hanya dituntut untuk lancar berbicara, tetapi juga harus mampu menampilkan ekspresi dan penguasaan cerita yang baik.

 

Adapun hasil perlombaan diumumkan di akhir acara dengan penuh kebahagian. Untuk Solo Singing Competition, juara pertama diraih oleh Djuniarkasih Fahzanisubhi, disusul Rezquila Fayyaza sebagai juara kedua, dan M. Affan Faiz Raihandy di posisi ketiga.

 

Sedangkan pada Storytelling Competition, juara pertama diraih oleh Agung Sopian, juara kedua Nabila Putri Lisiana, dan juara ketiga Sheiren. Para pemenang menerima piagam penghargaan dan apresiasi langsung dari panitia serta pembina UKM.

 

Selaku Pembina UKM UKBI English, Rabu (15/10/2025) Shanty Dwi Krishnaningsih, M.Hum, menyampaikan rasa syukur atas terselenggaranya kegiatan E-motion yang mendapat dukungan di luar ekspektasi. Peminatnya sungguh di luar perkiraan, bahkan melebihi anggaran yang telah disiapkan UKBI. Namun, saya sangat mengapresiasi kreativitas dan semangat positif para mahasiswa yang tampil,” ucapnya.

 

Ia menambahkan, melalui kegiatan ini terlihat semangat inspiratif yang mampu menumbuhkan motivasi bagi mahasiswa lain untuk ikut berpartisipasi, baik sebagai panitia maupun peserta lomba.

 

“Saya berterima kasih kepada panitia dan pengurus UKBI atas kerja cerdas dan dedikasinya, serta kepada para juri yang telah meluangkan waktu untuk menilai para peserta,” tuturnya.

 

Lebih lanjut, ke depan, saya berharap perlombaan ini dapat diperluas dengan melibatkan pelajar SMA atau sederajat dari berbagai sekolah di Bangka Belitung agar tercipta suasana kompetisi yang lebih beragam dan inklusif. Saya juga berharap ada penambahan kategori lomba seperti drama atau penulisan esai dalam bahasa Inggris, sehingga semakin memperkaya bentuk ekspresi peserta,” pungkasnya.

 

Di sisi lain, Ketua UKM UKBI English, Riski, menuturkan bahwa kegiatan ini bukan sekadar ajang hiburan, melainkan sarana pengembangan diri mahasiswa. Melalui lomba storytelling dan singing ini, mahasiswa Polman Babel bisa melatih kemampuan bahasa Inggris mereka. Seperti yang kita tahu, bahasa Inggris sangat dibutuhkan di dunia industri teknologi,” ungkapnya. (Adv/Red5)
